*YA/NA Paranormal Romance*

Wow. I don't like to make absolute statements. But... I'm thinking this might just be my all-time favorite YA/NA Paranormal Romance. And that is saying something. I was the figurative baton-twirler leading the Twilight parade. And I will always love Twilight. But this book. It's like many other Paranormal Romances in that it follows the recipe for success: Strange, mysterious, hot guy. New girl in town. Dude is cocky and often jerk-like in order to keep new girl he's actually attracted to away from him for everyone's safety. LOL. That is the springboard for most of the YA/NA romances, yeah? But this book is on a whole new level. It's hilariously witty. It's steamy (within the bounds of YA). It's angsty. Oh, how I love the angst. Eagerly anticipating reading the rest of this series. FIVE ENTHUSIASTIC STARS! I'll leave off with a quote.

"My palms itched to have a close encounter of the bitch-slap kind with his face."

Where did all the time go?

I moved my youngest daughter into her dorm room yesterday, where she will join her twin sisters for their senior year at Berkeley.

Empty nest syndrome, here I come.

$2000.00 Vehicle fix that did NOT fix the problem. Kids car is now trashed. Grrrr, lesson learned. Never put more money into a repair than the car is worth.

$ 900.00 Unexpected Summer Course because Advisor advised kid incorrectly about course requirements

$Priceless Damage from flooded basement when above heater let loose (lost books, lost comics, lost sanity).

Cat poops out a 12" ribbon & then manages to get both front paws caught under the weight of the dishwasher (don't ask) and screams like the devil has bit him in the ass. He is still alive, has a bit of a limp today, but I fear he's used up all but one of his 9 lives.  

I expect only sunny skies and money trees from here on out, ok universe? 

Pardon my boo-hoo moment.  But this is part of the reason I cannot focus on reading. I skip from one calamity to the next singing lalala. Soon I will be writing from a rubber room or a padded cell.
