The Dawning of Scarlett - Jennifer Osbor...
Scarlett is a young girl who wants nothing more out of life but to live a “normal life” which to her means having friends and a boyfriend. But Scarlett has been denied these things for most of her life. Scarlett has been trained by her uncle Chasem in martial arts and to always be prepared no matter what. You see in less than a year Scarlett will be seventeen years old and will be of dawning age. But her biological father Apollo will never let her live to see this day if he can stop it. He will never let her dawn.
Chasem has always known that is why he has given his whole to training Scarlett to always be on guard and to always look over her shoulder. Instead of teaching her about the day she dawns and what that consist of he has taught her how to defend herself and to win. He has taught her never to give up no matter what.
But everything changes and starts a whole new path for Scarlett when she meets the cute Nick whom she is attacked to right way. Nick falls head over hills for Scarlett right off the bat. Nick cares so much for Scarlett that he will do whatever it takes to make her his for life. Chasem warns Scarlett that they are too young for such a commitment but Scarlett can’t seem to get this in her head. Scarlett is a person that when she cares about someone her feelings go deep and they are for life. She has a great big heart and cares about everyone and doing the right thing for everyone involved.
Scarlett is determined to live and her biological father Apollo is determined that she will not. Who will win out in the end? Will it be Scarlett? Will it be ApolIo? Is she strong enough to go up against all the revenant renegades and her father?
I do like reading a good vampire story but I think The Dawning of Scarlett tops that list by a land slide. The Dawning of Scarlett is unlike any vampire novel I have read in the past. The Dawning of Scarlett is fill with a lot of great characters both good and bad that will take you to a world that you have probably never been before. It will reach out and grab a hold of you and will not let go until you have the last page. You will be so immersed in Scarlett’s world that you will think that you are like a shadow following her around. You will feel what she is feeling. Jennifer Osborn knows how to create a story that jumps right off the page at you and swallows you up and spits you out right into Scarlett’s world.
