The Do-Over
The Do-Over - Julie A. Richman The Do-Over - Julie A. Richman It's really cold where I live. The kind of cold where standing outside give you frosty eyelashes and makes you look like a magical fairy which would be cool except that basically means the moisture in your eyes has frozen and your phone quits if you try to take a selfie and frost on eyelashes melts quite quickly so forget about attempting it inside. What good are frosty eyelashes without photo evidence? Did they EVEN exist?

I bring this up because it's a good segue. It's so cold I think half of my brain might be frozen, and I'm living in fear for what this means because it actually gets way worse here, it's just this feels like it came out of nowhere but it's December so who can really say that because December and January and February where I live are usually goddamn awful. Where was I? Oh, frozen brain. So part of my brain is no longer working, so that's the only excuse I have for finishing this book because it was kind of like
"I walked my dog and then it peed and I wondered what my daughter was doing. Once I met this guy and we were 22 and now I'm nearly 40 but he was a catch. Timing was all wrong though, he had a girlfriend and sometimes my divorced self still feels a little desperate for him. So then I saw him later and we hooked up. I have the personality of cardboard. I think it might be this writing. This man has a weird relationship with my daughter. I don't question it because we stayed up till dawn when we were 22. He's really sexy, and I'm going to describe one of the worst written sex scenes of all times. You will think it sounds sexy how we got it on on the terrace, but it really sounds clinical with some racy words. It makes me sad to think about it. I'm going to see him at a gala. I love him. My best friend has great tits."

There, I've saved you all the time. She didn't really have a dog. But if she did, she would have been boring about it.

★ Review ☆ Slave to Love by Julie A Richman

slave to love.jpg

My first read from Julie A Richman.

Sierra Stone is a great female character and one I enjoyed reading about.
Most author don't write strong females so I usually don't pay attention to them.

Sierra Stone is a tough, hard working, kick ass businesswomen and because of these attributes her boss loans her out to his VIP client Hale Lundstrom

He's in lust upon meeting Sierra with her curvy ass and long legs, he  inappropriately touches her ass he didn't mean to by his own admission he was looking at her great ass and kinda lost his mind.
Unfortunately in her occupation she wants to be known for her skills in the boardroom, not bedroom so she's offended telling him "I don't shit where I eat."

He's very remorseful as it wasn't something he intended to do, make her feel like a whore.

She's not going to mix pleasure with business so she fends off any suggestion from him that they should hook up, she worked way too hard to be seen as a slut,  not until the project they are working on is done anyways.

He try his best to woo her without over crossing the line.

They have fun working together and are focused on getting the project done. Flirty sexy bantering between the two shows they are both more than interested and attracted to each other.

Great read from this author and I look forward to more from Julie.

REVIEW - Henry's End
Henry's End - Julie A. Richman
3 Stars!

description

Henry’s End is a stand-alone M/M romance by Julie A. Richmond that outlines Henry Clark’s journey into the murky and turbulent waters of love. For those readers that have read Ms. Richmond’s Needing Moore series, they will already be familiar with Henry’s character as he appears in both Searching for Moore and Moore than Forever. This is my first book by this author and it was a fairly enjoyable read.

I am purposefully going to keep this review vague as I do not want to give anything away when it comes to the overall story arc. Henry is an extremely lovable, successful gay man whose close friends have all entered into serious relationships and have all started to settle down. Henry longs to find that one person who makes his heart sing, someone he can spend the rest of his life with and grow old with. As we embark on this journey with Henry we will walk with him through pain, loss, romance, passion and love. There are a few twists and turns along the way as Henry discovers who he is and ultimately finds his one.

While I did enjoy this novel overall I never really connected with Henry or any of the other characters and I felt that in some parts the writing was a little disjointed throwing me off. I could not help but wonder if I was missing something because I had not read the Needing Moore series where Henry plays a role as a secondary character. I do agree that this book could be read as a stand-alone; however, perhaps you would get greater reading pleasure if you were to have read the previous books where Henry makes an appearance. I am not sure. In the end this was a story about a man finding his way. It left me with a happy heart and a smile on my face.

****An advance reading copy of Henry's End by Julie A. Richman was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review.
