A FATAL YARN by Peggy Ehrhart
A Fatal Yarn - Peggy Ehrhart

The newest entry in the Knit and Nibble Mystery series has Pamela and Bettina searching for the killer of the mayor of Arborville after an arrest has been made. Looking at what they know about the mayor they find several good suspects--if only they didn't have alibis. Will the alibis hold up with Pamela and Bettina on the trail? Will they find the murderer before getting into too much trouble?

I enjoyed this story. I liked how they are methodical, for them, in trying to figure out the killer. They have made a few mad as they ask their questions. I always enjoy seeing Wilfred again as he supports his wife and Pamela. I also enjoy visiting with the rest of the group. The new secondary characters are interesting. They bring some suspects along with them. A possible tree-hugger and tree dresser, a woman who resells expensive designer clothing, a former mayoral candidate. I, once again, did not figure out the killer until it was explained. I look forward to seeing the regulars again.

SILENT KNIT, DEADLY KNIT by Peggy Ehrhart
Silent Knit, Deadly Knit - Peggy Ehrhart
Penny is home from college for Christmas.  She stumbles across the body of Millicent Fairchild, owner of the craft shop in the next town, as she is in the park.  Who wants Millicent dead and why?

The Knit and Nibble Knitting Club has another murder to solve.  Well, Pamela and Bettina do.  The rest are getting ready for Christmas or babies.  As they come across clues, they have to be careful of how they say they found those clues.  Once again I can say I am no detective.  I could not solve this one.  I needed the mystery solved for me as well as the why.

It was fun to visit these characters and see Pamela deal with an empty nest and try to treat Penny as an adult.  She is all mother hen over some of what happens.  I liked seeing more of Bettina's family.  Looking forward to more Knit and Nibble.

KNIT ONE, DIE TWO by Peggy Ehrhart
Knit One, Die Two - Peggy Ehrhart
Enjoyable entry in the Knit and Nibble Mystery series.  This time an actress in a local production is killed.  While the cops rule it an accident, Pamela and Bettina think it was something else.  Since Caralee, the actress, was a member of their knitting group, they decide to follow the clues.

I figured out the who but not the why.  The clues were there but I could not put it all together.  I like Pamela and Bettina trying to solve the crime.  I also like how they "bribe" some people to get the gossip and story.  They do manage to irritate people so I understand Penny's concern for her mother.  I also liked how they managed to trip up one suspect and figure out his secret.  Very crafty!

I look forward to the Christmas book.

MURDER, SHE KNIT by Peggy Ehrhart
Murder, She Knit - Peggy Ehrhart
Cozy mystery where Pamela tries to find where the kitten she's been feeding is hiding but finds a body in her bushes.  She and the victim have a past but so do many others in the town.

I enjoyed this story.  I liked the characters.  I also enjoyed the small-town gossip and mind set.  The knitting group are older women whose children are raised.  They get together weekly to knit.  There is also Roland whose doctor told him to take up knitting as a way to reduce stress.  Not so sure if it has or has only added to the stress in his life.  There is good world building here as this sets up the series.

The story was good but I missed the clues to help solve the mystery.  They hinted at the back of my mind but never came together until the murderer was identified and the story told.  I am looking forward to the next mystery in this series.
