Ladybird Book of Musical Instruments (History of the Arts)
A Ladybird Book of Musical Instruments - Ann Rees,Robert Ayton Growing up I remember adoring this book. The missing spine, funny stain on the back and the fact that I still have it attest to that. A piece of paper stapled onto the first page states that this book was a prize awarded to me by the Childrens Concert Centre, although the reason why escapes me...

The book, in true Ladybird style, provides a thorough and well illustrated introduction to different musical instruments, how we hear sounds, how different types of instrument work and finally how they all come together in an orchestra.

I'm tempted to read it again.
