7 years approx. in ~250p. Sounds fast paced, right? Wrong! Tiny events are given inordinate significance - but that's part of the point; these people's lives were desperately short on stimulus as they grew up. It's enjoyable enough reading, like Skallagrigg with the Skallagrigg removed.

Imagine a life-story told as little memories and anecdotes shuffled into chronological order. Most of them not more than 2p long. I've never come across this approach to a novel before.
