Book Review: Receiver of Many
Receiver of Many - Rachel Alexander

Book: Receiver of Many

Author: Rachel Alexander

Genre: Fiction/Mythology/Romance

Summary: Persephone's life has been one of leisure among the verdant fields: the maiden of flowers, forever sheltered by her mother, the Harvest Goddess Demeter. Now she is a woman, a goddess in her own right, yearning for freedom - even as the terms of an ancient pact are about to come due. Hades' life has been one of solitude in the somber land of the dead: for millennia he has served as the God of the Underworld, living without attachments, eternally governing the souls of mortals. But he dreams of the young goddess who was promised to be his wife, and knows it is time for the Underworld to have a Queen. When Hades arrives to claim his betrothed, he finds a young goddess eager to unearth her divine potential - and a powerful mother unwilling to let go. Receiver of Many begins an erotic story of passion and possession, duty and desire, and a struggle that threatens both ancient Greece and the Realm of the Dead itself. -Self-published, 2015.

The Essential Garden Design Workbook by Rosemary Alexander; Rachel Myers
The Essential Garden Design Workbook: Completely Revised and Expanded Third Edition - Rosemary Alexander,Rachel Myers

This book is filled with so much information. It is a wonderful way to plan not only your personal gardens but to do it on a professional level. A lot of the books is pointed towards the professional level but I was able to learn a whole lot on the personal level. There are forms in the books that can be used to work out your ideas and plans. There are also tons of tips.

I have never personally done a blueprint of my gardens I just plant things where I think they will look good. Sometimes it works out sometimes not so much. Now I have a better understanding of how and where to put the plants I want and have them actually grow.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.

Secrets of a Perfect Night
Secrets of a Perfect Night - Stephanie Laurens,Victoria Alexander,Rachel Gibson I enjoyed these three steamy new years reunion novellas. All had a good plot and action but it seemed the last third of each story was the characters internally debating about getting back together. Laurens – rake in snowstorm warmed by spinster; Alexander – young lovers plan to elope foiled; Gibson – good friends reconnect at class reunion.

New Year's Eve Romance
Not Another New Year's - Christie Ridgway
Secrets of a Perfect Night - Stephanie Laurens,Victoria Alexander,Rachel Gibson
Midnight Kiss : Midnight Confessions; Midnight Surrender; Midnight Assignment - Robyn Carr; Jean Brashear; Victoria Dahl

I have spent many a lovely New Year's Eve with my sweetie. I wish you the same or if not a great book.

I hope you and yours have a wonderful New Year!

Here are some New Year's Eve themed romances to get you started.

My lists are never in any particular order. Enjoy!

1. Not Another New Year's by Christie Ridgway

Hannah Davis says: "I hate Auld Lang Syne!"

After all, this year brought Hannah nothing but the memory of her wandering fiance marrying someone else behind her back. Now, sitting alone at a bar in Coronado, California, on December 31, she decides to do something radical...and lets a brooding good-looker take her to bed. But when another woman bursts into their room much too early on New Year's morning, Hannah realizes this guy's more complicated than she thought...

Ex-Secret Service agent Tanner Hart screwed-up, big-time. Hoping to temporarily boot some of the ghosts from his life, he hooked up with this sexy stranger for a hot one-night stand--only to discover she's the woman he agreed to protect...from men just like him!

But a new year is a time for fresh beginnings. Despite the danger, the hoopla, and the hangovers, if Hannah's brave enough to risk her heart again--and Tanner's wise enough to realize he deserves it--maybe this one will be different.

2. Secrets of a Perfect Night by Stephanie Laurens, Victoria Alexander, Rachel Gibson

Three spectacular stories all set on New Year′s Eve. First, Stephanie Laurens enthralls us with a New Year′s scandal, when a rake awakens in the bed of the temptress who seduced him years before. Then, Victoria Alexander enchants with her tale of a love promised, then foiled and then rekindled on another midnight. And Rachel Gibson delights with the reunion of two estranged friends and the passionate sparks that fly when the clock strikes twelve.

3. Midnight Kiss by Robyn Carr, Jean Brashear, Victoria Dahl

These are New Year's resolutions worth keeping!

Take a risk.

At the inaugural New Year's Eve party at Jack's Bar, two lonely revelers decide the best balm for their broken hearts might just be each other.

Find the perfect work-life balance.

When a flinty lawyer with a bad-boy addiction meets the quintessential nice guy, sparks fly that consume their expectations of life and love.

Get those finances in order.

Working over the holidays on a messy bank takeover is made worse for two federal specialists by an ill-advised kiss that will never happen again…right?

Not too many. You have to leave yourself time of kissing.

To vote for the best of the best, go to my Goodreads list: New Year's Eve Romance.

The Wrong Dog: A Rachel Alexander Mystery (Rachel Alexander & Dash Mysteries) - Carol Lea Benjamin This was the first mystery I have read by this author. Years ago I read her non-fiction dog book called 'Mother Knows Best' and knew she was great writer and dog trainer. Her mystery, starring Rachel Alexander and her canine partner, Dashiell, was excellent as a mystery, detective story, strong female protagonist fiction, etc. I really enjoyed it.
