REVIEW BY MERISSA - Scion's Redemption (Seven Seals #4) by Traci Douglass
Scion's Redemption (Seven Seals #4) - Traci Douglass

Scion's Redemption is the fourth book in the Seven Seals series, and this time we focus on Luther, and his Seal, Thana.

Luther is completely against having a relationship with his Seal, even though he knows others have. He wishes them well, but he doesn't want that for himself. However, this latest incarnation of the Seal is giving him trouble. Keeping a distance is no longer as easy as it once was. Thana is intrigued by Luther, even more so when she has to face up to what he is. She is drawn into a world far beyond her understanding, and yet manages to find her feet.

This was a wonderful addition to the series, and in my opinion, better than book 3. I don't know if this book was longer than the others, but the pacing was perfect, building up to the climax with ease. We get cameo appearances from the other Scions, and find out more about what is happening, or has happened!

I am loving this series, and am looking forward to the next book. Absolutely recommended by me.

Scion's Awakening (Seven Seals #3) by Traci Douglass
Scion's Awakening (Seven Seals #3) - Traci Douglass

Scion's Awakening is the third book in the Seven Seals series, and we meet Wyck, whom we were briefly introduced to at the end of Chago's book. He is the resident geek, and Scion to the Seal of the Apocalypse, who in traditional opposite style, is a scientist trying to stop the world's famine problem. However, with the Nephilim involved, nothing is as simple as it seems.

This is a fast-paced story, so be prepared for it to jump a bit - one example being Quinn's reluctance to be with Wyck as he will only break her heart. Next paragraph, they are together. Now, I know, before I get shouted at, this is a novella so this happens. It was just a bit too quick.

On the whole, this was well written, and a good continuation of the series. I would have preferred to drool a bit more of Wyck's 'geekiness' which wasn't really mentioned, but that's just me! I am thoroughly enjoying this series, and look forward to continuing it. Definitely recommended by me.

Scion's Surrender (Seven Seals #2) by Traci Douglass
Scion's Surrender (Seven Seals #2) - Traci Douglass

Scion's Surrender is the second book in the Seven Seals series, and we meet Chago. He is the Scion of War, and has moved to be close to his host, Irena. She has fallen in love with Chago over the period of three years, but doesn't think she has a chance. That is, until Chago has a bit too much to drink, and confesses his feelings, and what he is.

Like the first book, this is a fast-paced novella that still has plenty of story for you sink your teeth into. Kagan and Mira's story is also involved with this (as the overall story arc) so we see progression with that too, plus appearances by them.

A very good continuation of the series, with a great story for Chago and Irena, a catch up for Kagan and Mira, and an introduction to Wyck. Absolutely recommended by me.

Scion's Destiny (Seven Seals #1) by Traci Douglass
Scion's Destiny (Seven Seals #1) - Traci Douglass

Scion's Destiny is the first book in the Seven Seals series. In this one, we meet Kagan, who has looked after the host of the First Seal for eons. The trouble is, not only does he concern himself over the current host, but he is also getting bored and wants to visit earth. A summons comes, and he arrives on earth, only to find out it wasn't Divinity who summoned him, but the host.

This is a nice, relaxing read, with no particular angst and an easy enough plot to follow. Although this story focuses on Kagan, his other brothers are mentioned. With plenty of brothers - and hosts - I can't wait to see where this series will go next. There were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, and the pacing was perfect for the story.

For a quick, laid-back, paranormal romance, then I can definitely recommend this one.

Kushiel's Scion by Jacqueline Carey $1.99
Kushiel's Scion - Jacqueline Carey

Imriel de la Courcel's birth parents are history's most reviled traitors, but his adoptive parents, the Comtesse Phedre and the warrior-priest Joscelin, are Terre d'Ange's greatest champions.

Stolen, tortured and enslaved as a young boy, Imriel is now a Prince of the Blood; third in line for the throne in a land that revels in art, beauty and desire. It is a court steeped in deeply laid conspiracies---and there are many who would see the young prince dead. Some despise him out of hatred for his mother, Melisande, who nearly destroyed the entire realm in her quest for power. Others because they fear he has inherited his mother's irresistible allure---and her dangerous gifts.

As he comes of age, plagued by unwanted desires, Imriel shares their fears. When a simple act of friendship traps Imriel in a besieged city where the infamous Melisande is worshiped as a goddess and where a dead man leads an army, the Prince must face his greatest test: to find his true self.
