Road Kill: A Serial Killer Novella (Terror Collection) by Shawn Raiford
Road Kill: A Serial Killer Novella-Terro... Road Kill: A Serial Killer Novella-Terror Collection (Kindle Single) - Shawn Raiford Road Kill: A Serial Killer Novella (Terror Collection) by Shawn Raiford is an novella about Ana who is not a victim. She's tired and wants to sleep. It was graphically written and a difficult story to read. The subject matter was creepy and it needs editing for grammar. It left me feeling disturbed and depressed. I gave it almost four stars. "Ana had gone to psychologists to help her with her anger management problem. Her doctor always told her, 'Words are just sound traveling through the air and cannot physically harm you. It's up to you how you react to them.' Ana understood the doctor but words also had meaning to people. To her." I received a complimentary Kindle copy in an Amazon promotion. That did not change my opinion for this review. Hunted, Volume One
Hunted, Vol. One: A Vampire Serial Novella (New England Nightwalkers Book 1) - Chloe Cole

Zara is a librarian. She recently lost her father. He was murdered. The police have closed the case, believing he was killed by a large animal. Zara believes otherwise. Gabriel is a vampire and part of the vampire police force (kinda for lack of a better word). He eliminates threats to their existence.
I liked the revelation and history given about Zara's father. Instant attraction between Zara and Gabriel. This ends with the relationship unequal in my eyes. Zara still has no idea what Gabriel is, while Gabriel knows about Zara.
I also cringed a few times during the sex scene; "...searing pain on her ass..." and "...the burning welts..." Ouch!!!

The Last Good Knight by Tiffany Reisz
The Last Good Knight Part I: Scars and Stripes (The Original Sinners) - Tiffany Reisz
The Last Good Knight Part II: Sore Spots (The Original Sinners) - Tiffany Reisz
The Last Good Knight Part III: The Games Destiny Plays (The Original Sinners) - Tiffany Reisz
The Last Good Knight Part IV: Fit to Be Tied (The Original Sinners) - Tiffany Reisz
The Last Good Knight Part V: The Last Good Night (The Original Sinners) - Tiffany Reisz

This was a fun little story. Any Original Sinners action I can get is always fun. I bought them all at once and read them one right after the other. They were actually a fun way to spend my nights. I would usually read one of them around bed time every night for a week. I’m usually not a huge fan of serials so this was a really great way to spend my week. I might consider doing something like this with other serials: waiting until they’re all out and buying them at the same time so I can read one per night before bed. It’s much easier to review them as one since it’s an ongoing story and I read them all one right after the other. What I appreciated most was the exploration of how misunderstood kink can be. Lance was in a bad situation because of his sexual preferences. I have a feeling this kind of thing happens to a lot of kinky people.

I loved Lance. He was very different from a lot of the other male subs that Reisz has introduced. He really does have that “white knight” kind of attitude about women and especially dominate women. He also has one special characteristic that makes me immediately love men in books, but it’s a spoiler. I’ll put it behind a spoiler tag for those of you who don’t mind. He has a daughter, and he loves her fiercely. For some reason, I find fathers so sexy in books. I’m not sure what it is. I think it might be because they are a little more sensitive.

As always, Ms. Reisz does not disappoint. Her writing, pacing, and crafting are what keep me coming back for more. Even these shorter stories are always written so well. She’s just one of my favorites. She also never disappoints when it comes to sexytimes. She writes some of the sexiest scenes I’ve read. This book is no different, and it offers a look at some kinks we haven’t experienced much in her previous works (e.g. foot fetishes).

If you’re a fan of Tiffany Reisz and the Original Sinners, this is a must read. If you’ve never tried her books before, this might be a fun way to get familiar with her characters and try her out.

3.75 moons - "Deep Surrendering Episode 3" by Chelsea M. Cameron
Deep Surrendering: Episode Three - Chelsea M. Cameron

Chelsea M. Cameron picks up where Episode 2 left us hanging and of course I still want to hurt Fin.  His secrets are killing me and I think I was a little irritated with him in this book due to him leaving soon to go on a trip. The bonus scene even makes me want to hit him more.  I have to keep reminding myself…he’s fictional and not real.  It’s hard though.

Although, Fin does open up in this episode a little more on why he is the way he is.  This episode digs a little deeper into Fin’s emotions and you may end up not liking him further or feeling sympathy for the guy. Me…it was toss up.  I love that he is opening up, but he is holding back. I need to know more about him and Chelsea definitely is making it hard to wait.  I have a feeling there is definitely going to be juicier details to come.  Ahhh!!

I’m starting to wonder about Marisol though.  If Fin is planning to do what he is doing at the end (opening up in the bonus scene…which I love being side his head for a bit).  I really hope he doesn’t break Marisol’s heart.

***Here’s a plus with each episode….they get steamier and steamier.  =)

I give this book 3.5 moons (actually more like 3.75 moons) and recommend it readers out there that enjoy reading New Adult and enjoy episodes (serials). If you don’t enjoy reading in episodes then I highly recommend on waiting until the whole book is finished.  Otherwise, you will drive yourself crazy on wondering what happens next.  I will say this…waiting a month is not that bad, compared to waiting longer.  Chelsea pumps these episodes out pretty quickly.  =)  But…she does leave us hanging.  June hurry up already.

I received a complimentary copy of the book for the blog tour (from InkSlinger PR) in exchange for an honest review.

4 moon rating - "Deep Surrendering Episode Two" by Chelsea M. Cameron
Deep Surrendering: Episode Two - Chelsea M. Cameron

WARNING:  You will need to read the first episode before reading the second episode of Deep Surrendering.  Deep Surrendering is a series of novellas of about 20,000 words and a new episode will be released every 3rd Thursday of the month.

I’m loving the fact that Chelsea M. Cameron is releasing an episode every month that way I’m not going too crazy waiting.  Although, once I start getting answers about Fin…I’m left with more questions.  I need to find out what is up with Fin because he definitely has some issues.  At least I got some answers in Episode Two, but I really thought after what he did to Marisol in the first episode that she would write him off and move on.  At least that is what I would do, but Marisol is definitely curious about Fin sexually and emotionally.  He does have some appealing qualities, but he definitely is freaking me out with all these secrets he has.  One of Finn’s issues he brings up is his first sexual experience with someone he knew very well that may have triggered to what he is today.  But I’m thinking there is definitely something else going on that he still has not uncovered to make him dark and mysterious.  He does keep saying that he wants to scare Marisol away…well…he may scare me away for her.  LOL  She’s really intrigued by him.

In this episode two, one of Marisol’s issues gets brought up and makes me feel sympathetic to her.  She definitely does not have a very supportive family to what she chooses in life and they definitely are very clingy.  I’m curious to find out how she deals with her parents after getting a taste of what they are doing to her.

All in all this episode was definitely interesting.  More questions, some answers…and more questions.  Yup…can you tell I’m definitely wanting to read the next episode.  Marisol does drive me crazy with her infatuation with Fin…but hopefully once Fin opens up more…I can agree with her decision on being with him.

I give this book 4 full moons and recommend it new adult readers out there.  If you are a fan serials, you will definitely enjoy these.  If you are not…then you may want to wait until all of them are released or at least some of them are released back to back.
