Unbound - Jasinda Wilder

The Preacher’s Son, Book 1

I Picked Up This Book Because: I was looking for a quick read.

The Characters:

Shea Harley:
Tre McNabbl:

The Story:

Short but sexy. I had to do a little suspense of belief for some of the instalust and some other things I didn’t necessarily agree with but it was entertaining.

The Random Thoughts:

3 Stars

Amal Unbound
Amal Unbound - Aisha Saeed,Priya Ayyar
Amal’s dream of becoming a teacher were put on hold when she must stay home and tend to her mother, who has not recovered since giving birth to her fourth child. Amal waits with anticipation for the day when she can return to school but an incident with a rich landlord/politician takes her even farther from her dream. Yet, through it all, Amal continues to keep reaching for that dream.
Becoming one of his servants to pay off the debt, Amal works at his lavish estate and believes that she’s working off the debt, that the incident triggered. This is a whole new world for Amal and I enjoyed how Amal handled herself. Locating a library within the estate, Amal begins “borrowing” material until someone spots her and tries to stop her. When she located the library, the first thought that went through my head was Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I imagined her reaction and amazement to be the same and that brought smiles to my face.
Amal is wise and clever, which I feel gives her an edge. She does what’s expected of her and she tries to stay out of trouble. She just wants the debt to be paid off so she can return home and return to her studies.
I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was a fast read and I really liked the character of Amal. She was a bright individual, a character who matured in the novel and someone that I cheered for throughout the whole book.

Night Unbound
Night Unbound (Immortal Guardians) - Dianne Duvall

This picks up where the previous left, Dennis and the mercenary group are defeated. It turns out someone picked up where they left off and are training vampires to fight. These vampires are strong and prove to be difficulty to defeat.
I liked the new mystery. I liked seeing Seth's vulnerabilities. I liked seeing the previous couples from the previous books and the banter back and forth; this is a close knit family. Ami and Marcus's child is born. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like Lisette and Zack as a couple. There are still many mysteries about "the Others" and what Zack and Seth are. These answers hopefully will be forthcoming in future installments.
Ripped Bodice Bingo: Both leads over 50 (probably not what they had in mind, but it fits!)

Lover Unbound by J.R. Ward
Lover Unbound - J.R. Ward

I finally read Lover Unbound which I skipped by mistake some years ago. It was quite good and a lot of things make sense now. I loved parts about John, Blay and Qhuinn. Their friendship and adventures are the best part about this series.
Vishious and Jane's relationship developed too fast and was to much about sex. So, I didn't like it and although the characters were smart, independent and at times funny, I didn't connect with them.
