Many readers compare this book to Gone Girl. To be honest, for me, GG is more twisted and like that book better. At first, i didn't know how the book is somewhat similar to this book, knowing just the title, i can't fathom any comparisons.
When i was reading this, i discovered the reasons and pretty much because they have both a couple involved, the wife was gone one morning, and some twisted scenes between them.
It's a good mystery. It got good writing too and it's not bad, for a new author who wrote this as her first mystery.
But if i were to compare the two, i still got mindfucked more in GG, tho this book have a charm of its own.
The mysteries of this book can be fathomed when you really read between the scenes. In the normal scenes of the characters involved, those where the secrets somehow being kept. It's amazing. I didn't guessed who the culprit is. Every mystery have one, right? So be very challenged finding him/her. :)
Also, it's true when i said and all the people who read this that this book is hard to put down. It's a 300-page story, and you'll find yourself not noticing the passing of time because this will suck the time you have. You need to know what happen, you will eager to know it. Sadly, of course, the revelations are in the very end so your reading pace will be train-like fast :)
One thing i didn't like, oh, two..sorry.. Two things I didn't like, and maybe i said this in my reviews already, that one, i hate dates from past to present and then future(like that of Time-travelers wife) and two, i hate flashbacks.
I loved flashbacks just one time in a particular book, but i still had some bitter taste from it.
But urgh, no flashbacks for me. I dont want to be confused by dates. and this book did these two so.. i had like 5 trips in the kitchen for some tea.
Ms. author, well done writing such unique characters. I think, one of the charm of this book are the characters. It was a good mystery because the secrets are behind those people involved.
To conclude, it's a good book, it's a challenging one. I'll just suggest to read this way before or after GG so that you wont compare them.(but it was hard for me >.<)

“When did you become so weak?” I don’t know. I don’t know where that strength went, I don’t remember losing it. I think that over time it got chipped away, bit by bit, by life, by the living of it.”
