Beau, a homicide detective, is on a case which looks like there may be a serial killer in Las Vegas. He meets Austin, an IT for the department, at a bar where Austin has gotten himself in trouble and is sloppy drunk. Beau sees Austin home then contacts him later to make sure he is okay. Austin is with Beau when he has to question a suspect 3 hours away. Austin goes with Beau, and they spend the night up there. An idea comes to Beau while spending time with friends which then causes Austin to get into trouble. Will Beau be able to save Austin? Will he crack the case? I enjoyed this story. It seemed as though it needed a little fleshing out. It seemed short to solve a murder and fall in love. I liked Beau. Austin took a little time for me to warm up to as he was a flake though lovable. Beau and Austin seemed to be a case for opposites attract. I look forward to more in this series.

Parker, while on patrol, is called to go to the scene of a crime. He finds a young male sex worker there and feels an attraction. He wants to help the young man get out of the life but the guy escapes from him. Later he gets a call about an attack, and it is the same guy. The young man goes to the hospital where Parker visits him. Parker receives a lot of flack for visiting the guy named Slade, real name Lonnie. Parker invites Lonnie to move into his apartment until he can get his life together. Both men are attracted to each other. Will they get together?

 

There is a lot going on here. Slade's pimp is fighting with the Russians for control of the sex trade in Vegas as well as sex trafficking which is one story arc. It is an interesting one as Lonnie gets involved through his insecurities. There is also another love story between a female prostitute who is Lonnie's friend and one of the Russians. Then we have Parker and Lonnie's love story. All the story arcs were interesting. I could not put this book down. I am loving this series more and more though I am reading them out of order. I like these characters and stories. These are flawed people who find love where they least expect it. I look forward to reading more of them.

Dakota strips at a dance club where the owner, Yuri, wants him to move into doing porn films. Dakota has dreams of being an aerialist in one of the shows on the Strip so he declines. He also has a 13-year-old brother who has run away from home and of whom he wants to get custody. He is attacked by Yuri on the street and it is called in as an attack by some bystanders. That is when he meets Reed, a cop who begins to help him with his brother and Yuri. Will Reed's assistance help Dakota? Will Dakota be free of Yuri?

 

I enjoyed this story. I liked Dakota. He was over the top but he was sincere. I liked Reed's steady presence. Dakota needed that. Reed is working out his sexuality when Dakota comes into his life but the attraction between them is real and hot. Both discover things about themselves as well as each other. Other relationships are also looked at through the book. I loved that Dakota's brother pressed him to answer questions as did Reed's daughter. It made them feel as though they were a family working together to be successful.
