Practical Protection Magick: Guarding & Reclaiming Your Power
Practical Protection Magick: Guarding & Reclaiming Your Power - Ellen Dugan

There has to be better protection manuals out there is my tl;dr review for this.

Not only was the author condescending and patronizing to the reader, it was reaching Silver RavenWolf's levels. I was offended as a reader, I would be really offended if I was a fan of her works. Also her attitude towards anyone who curses, regardless of reasons, was just ugh. There are valid reasons for cursing people. *shakes fist* There was so much bitterness seeping through the pages, I feel like I have to cleanse my kindle app. :P

Also her chapter about physical fitness is just wrong and offensive. I could buy maybe taking martial arts or a self-defense course, but everything else was just not a good look. I say this as someone who works out, but is still plus sized (and I'm not bothered by that fact).

There was nothing really new here, and there were a few things that I did love, mostly a spell or a ritual here and there.

There were more personal stories then actual how-to, which is not always a bad thing, but it irritated the fuck out of me while reading.

Received this book for free, ethically, from tuebl.

Natural Witchery: Intuitive, Personal & Practical Magick
Natural Witchery: Intuitive, Personal & Practical Magick - Ellen Dugan

This was a decent primer, though you can see Cunningham's influence. I would say this book is for more beginner Wiccans, then other types of Pagans. There were still some cool stuff in here, but not all is relevant to my path, since I am not Wiccan.

I need reccs to Pagan/Spiritual books without the Wiccan influence, please? I don't mind the wheel of the year, or elemental work, or even general spells/invocations. I'm at the point where I skim ethic portions in these books, because I am not Wiccan, I don't follow their ethic code. I have my own. Anyone got reccs?

Also got this ebook for free, and ethically too, from tuebl.

Walking the Tiger: Healing Trauma
Waking the Tiger: Healing Trauma: The Innate Capacity to Transform Overwhelming Experiences - Peter A. Levine,Ann Frederick

This was a very unique healing from trauma book. It takes another look at PTSD and other forms of anxiety/panic disorders, and gives us other tools along with our therapy/medication. I believe this will be great help to me, personally.

Clairvoyant Psychotherapy
CLAIRVOYANT PSYCHOTHERAPY - Susan Feinbloom

There were a few things that I really disagreed with, but all-in-all, I think this will be useful to me.

A Secret Kept
A Secret Kept - Tatiana de Rosnay

Rating: 3.5?

I still don't know how I feel. There were things I loved about the book but things I loathed as well.

Review to come.

Edit: I decided to rate this a solid 3 stars.

The MC was such an unlikeable douche. Just the misogyny and the slut-shaming of a teenage girl. YUCK. I am not sure if we are supposed to like him or not.

The writing itself was pretty good. It was like binging on french wine hahaha get it.

Most of the female characters weren't not that well developed, but I don't know if that was because of the male narrator and his self-obsessed narration. Everyone revolved around him.

There was a character I had a crush on, but her hotness was diminished by banging the hero for some reason. I don't get his appeal, but whatevs.

The twist of the mother's lover was a woman, I did not see coming, and that was a pretty cool twist. It was the true tragedy of her dying for her love of the same sex.
