Along the way they fall in love which leads into the second book in the series The Woodville Wedding. Each animal character is illustrated in detail and represents real animals from the authors childhood. The animals include Lucky the horse, Bogey the cat, Goatie the goat, Sweetpea the cow, Jimmy the skunk, and many more. Her pugs Oscar and Hannah and Bogey the cat currently live with the author and are present during personal appearances.
