This is the third book in the Woodville series. This is the story of how Oscar's good friend Bogey the cat came to live at Woodville. Oscar the Pug dog found out about a poor little kitten that had nowhere to live, and was confined at the local animal shelter. Bogey the kitten had come to America by ship to meet a new family he had been given to. The mean lady that was the mother of the house told the ship's crew that Bogey was too ugly to become a member of her family. Bogey has a distinctive crooked ear that he got after scraping his ear on a barbed wire fence. Bogey's mother always told him he was special and beautiful. The mean lady told the crew to take Bogey back out to sea and drown him. Bogey escaped and had a harrowing adventure before finally ending up at the animal shelter. Oscar acted quickly and let the Woodville family know about Bogey. They went to the shelter on Christmas Eve and asked the shelter workers to let Bogey to come home with them to Woodville. Bogey was overwhelmed with joy. He was going to finally have a new family in America. The animals gathered around in the Woodville barn and warmly welcomed Bogey. Oscar and Hannah joined them to wish all a good night, for it was Christmas at Woodville, the most special time of all. This book was dedicated to all of the shelter workers, volunteers, and generous donors who keep animal shelters open. If not for you, discarded pets would have no where to turn. You are the angels who offer them hope.
