The Mistborn trilogy was the first experience I had with Brandon Sanderson, and I loved it. I loved the world, the magic system, the characters, the concept, everything. Loved it. Now, revisiting the world after 300 in-story years and about 3 real-life years, during which time I read The Way of King...
So it took 300 years to re-invent electricity, but less to discover sexism. Hmm....300 years after the events from The Hero of Ages, the world of Mistborn is rapidly evolving. After thousands of years of arrested development, this new world is now entering a period very close to the Industrializatio...
I'm probably one of the only reviewers that hasn't read the rest of the Mistborn series, but I hereby claim Alloy stands just fine on its own. It's a fun, fast read with engaging dialogue. I finished Alloy after coming off a shadowy* low, and what a relief. Sanderson can write with skill, and even a...
Read the full review here. It was great to return to Scandrial and the Mistborn universe in this novel, which shows how the planet has changed over three hundred years. Religions and cults have formed around the lenegendary figures of the original trilogy, and technology has progressed greatly over ...
First I'll say that I love the Mistborn series and they (after Elantris) cemented Sanderson as my favourite author, so it goes without saying that I enjoy everything that man wishes to turn out. The Alloy of Law isn't really a mistborn book though--it's more like a Alternate-universe fanfic with ...
To say that I didn't put this down once after I started reading it would not be an exaggeration. Oh man, I don't even know where to begin. Brandon Sanderson is easily my favourite author, easily. The Mistborn trilogy is my favourite trilogy of books. So, I was ecstatic when I heard that he was relea...
This short entry in the Mistborn series, in which we have jumped forward in time to a steampunk-influenced era (but still have the excitement of allomancy) does not disappoint. However, it's very open-ended, and who knows when Sanderson will be able to get back to the threads he's left hanging?
A fun read, but it felt a lot like a loooong prequel to the next trilogy in the Mistborn universe, which Sanderson is planning. As a Brit, Wayne's fake Dick Van Dyke Cockney dialect really bugged me!I did enjoy it though.
