I read The Angel Experiment several years ago, back when the Maximum Ride series was first beginning. It was recommended to me by a friend and I thought that it might be a worthy imaginative children's fiction novel (what is now coming to be dominated by YA novels). I found that again, as with other...
I read this a long time ago, so I only remember how much I didn't like it. The premise was very interesting. It had its potential. But I just didn't like how Patterson wrote this. I knew him to be an author for adult fiction, so I was surprised he wrote a sci-fi fiction for teens. I don't think he p...
I tried, I really tried... but I had to give up. I just couldn't get into the story! I tried for almost 2 weeks only because of the good reviews and of the hype. Honestly, I did not care for the characters. The idea is good. 6 children (Max, Fang, Iggy, The Gasman, Nudge, Angel) who are orphans, live...
Good Lucifer below this book is boring. The humor is childish and dry, the characters are one dimensional, the plot line is seen-it-all-before, and the writing is mundane. I wouldn't recommend this to middle schoolers, let alone young adults.
This is a fun easy read that those young MG readers could appreciate as well as adults who just like a good adventure. In some ways the set up in this story reminded me of Dark Angel in where there are kids who "belong" to a lab and then fight their way to freedom and staying that way. After that, t...
Before reading this book, you could say I expecting something action packed, with I don't know, complicated flying sequences or some witty word fight, but I was rather disappointed. The book wasn't bad, it was just quite undetermined of its direction. Why couldn't the flock just get to the lab and do...
Q: Is there anything a bird-kid can’t do? A: Apparently not.Imagine growing up - not in an apartment, not in a house – but in a science lab. Maximum Ride (a girl), Fang, Iggy, Gazzy and Angel were brought up in test-tubes by evil scientists, and are – thanks to some DNA fiddling - 2% bird and 98% hu...
It was enjoyable. I thought that the characters were absolutely adorable. However, although this is a series, I don't think I'd want to read the rest... I felt that this was better as a stand-alone. I just wished the author ended it in just one book.
