Although not my favourite Discworld, it's clever and well-realized. The setting was better established than I remembered, actually.Terry Pratchett manages to turn many fantasy tropes on their heads with the first tourist on the Disc, Twoflower. Of course, in Ankh-Morpork parlance, tourist is equiv...

The fantasy/humor series Discworld began with "The Color of Magic" over 30 years ago and literally hit the funny bone of the vast majority of it's readers. After finishing it, I can say that I count myself among those who laughed as Terry Pratchett intended back in 1983. From the first page the ab...

A good start to Discworld including a taste of the Watch, the Unseen University and YOU KNOW WHO. The later novels are funnier and more assured, but this adventure with the expelled wizard Rincewind and a hapless tourist is a nice send up of the usual fantasy tropes.

I enjoyed the first plotline of this book, but the second, third and fourth plot lines really didn't wow me. I felt like the same jokes were being told over and over again. Rincewind is panicking! Twoflowers is oblivious! Death is at hand but oh they escaped but it just got worse again! ( and again,...

This book details the adventures of Twoflower, the Disc's first tourist, and Rincewind, a failed wizard who acts as his guide, and lots of other humorous characters. This book is extremely funny, both in the events, an...

After hearing people gush about Discworld for so long, I finally got around to reading it earlier this year. Until actively seeking out negative reviews here on Goodreads, I'm not sure I'd ever heard or read anyone speak ill of the series; I'd been told it was hysterical, clever, and something I jus...

Ahahahahahahahahahah!I've seen the movie(s). Was rather impressed with what little they didn't leave out. That one brief scene on Earth would have been hilarious though.

Witty, colorful, mind-stretching, full of childish yet adult fantasy. Loved it.
