An ok book. Funny in certain parts, less so in others. I got the Pern reference but wasn't sure what the other sections were parodying so I probably missed a lot of jokes.

One of those funny YA books you'd want to read over and over. And over. And then maybe a few more times.

Funny and quirky in a very British way. I was a little disappointed in some of the writing, but liked the book on the whole enough to want to try some later Discworld novels by which time I expect Pratchett's writing would have improved too. As I've read I've received goodreads messages and been spoken t...

Oh the unpredictable gods of Discworld! It is embarrassing to know that one is a god of a world that only exists because every improbability curve must have its far end; especially when one can peer into other dimensions at worlds whose Creators had more mechanical aptitude than imagination. No wonde...

A lot happens in a short amount of time. The plotting is a little off to me. It seems more concerned with diving right into action and plot than developing the world and characters then pacing itself. The actual world of Discworld is obviously vast, unique and well thought out and I hope the pacing ...

An entertaining book, if a bit disjointed much of the time. I've heard so many good things about Discworld that I felt I needed to see what the fuss was about. Colour of Magic left me interested for sure, albeit far from floored. The writing was decent and generally easy to read and follow, though t...
