The Girl of Fire and Thorns was a series I had heard a lot about and picked up at one point when it was on sale. Overall I liked it. It's about Elisa, the younger princess of one kingdom, married off to another kingdom whose king wants to keep her secret at first. Oh and she is gifted with the "G...

Princess Lucera-Elisa is the chosen bearer of the Godstone, something that only happens once a century. Except, she starts off as a useless second princess who has no interest in politics, government, or war. Her interest seems to lie in the devout, the library, and minor useless knowledge that ha...

I like the fantasy world built by Rae Carson in this book.I like Elisa. She is a strong character. I loved the way the author has portrayed the gradual change in her. And I just love Hector! I like the concept of the Godstone and can't wait to find out what Elisa's fate has in store for her.

*SPOILER ALERT*Anyways, I thought it was surprisingly good. The beginning was alright, but I like the idea of using Spanish origins instead of Latin. By the way, DON'T DIE HUMBERTOOOO! Although, any name starting with "Hum..." makes me think of Humpty Dumpty. The characters have a lot of depth, and ...

The Girl of Fire and Thorns was a good book. Emphasis on good. The writing was a little boring at times. Elisa is the chosen one, the one with the godstone on her belly (basically a round diamond that's on her stomach). Those with the godstone are chosen by God to fulfill a duty, to do something ...

First thing, this book had the unfortunate luck of being my current read when every possible shit hit every identifiable fan in my vicinity. Which is the real reason why it took me nearly a week to finish Rae Carson's debut novel. Those 6 reading days doesn't speak my lack of enthusiasm and/or enjoy...

The main character really made this book for me. It has a very unique feel she isn't the pretty little size 2 lady we see grace the pages of most of our books. She's overweight insecure and in a strange place and she still manages to become badass. Not only is a great story about a potential evil de...

3.5 stars. Wasn't as enamored with this as I originally thought I was going to be. Everything up until she was kidnapped was going smoothly, and then it just fizzled for me. Everything happened too quickly, despite it being a number of months passing, and the romance was awkward and confusing. I was...

This wasn't a bad book. This was a book I probably would have liked well enough when I was twelve.Princess Elisa is a pampered princess, basically a nice person but she's always been overshadowed by her older, prettier, thinner, smarter, more ambitious sister. Lazy, spoiled, fat Elisa is in for a ru...
