Totally cute book. I would have loved to have adventures like this when I was a kid.

I tried doing the audio for this book, but it was pure misery. I got halfway into the story before I finally pulled the plug. The narrator was an older gentleman, he sounded like a grandfather type. You would think that would be endearing, but no. His voice was gravely and even broke at times. I wa...

The Mysterious Benedict Society (book 1) is a fast paced, exciting book, that is approachable for young readers (and older readers alike!). I read it in about three days, because I couldn't put it down. It was charming, with enjoyable characters who seem to really earn their "children saving the wor...

Yeah I got less than 200 pages into this one and I'm stopping. Its boring and there are too many books in this world (and in my home, for that matter) to struggle over this one.

Very strongly recommended by 10-yr-old cousin . . .Awesome new y-a series surrounding a group of 12-yr old secret agents. Fast paced with definite elements of Potter and Lemony Snicket, but certainly not derivative. Looking forward to the next one.

Actually this was a pretty good one for falling asleep to, because I found it a little flat and boring. The world seemed flat. The Disney style Winnie the Pooh voice of the narrator didn't help. Four more or less orphaned yet brilliant children are recruited for a mission to save the world from a...

I had read this some time ago and quite enjoyed it. Now I'm reading it aloud to the Possum. We've only just finished the first test, but so far, it's gripping. I'd forgotten how important testing is when you're in school.***Testing continued. Really, I think I may be enjoying this more this time...

This is the perfect book to share with a child. Four very resourceful orphans use their wits to battle an evil meglomaniac. Fun plot twists and puzzles. Loved it!
