I know this is a much-loved teen classic and it was very well written (some great quotes). I just found it hard to connect with it (possibly because I'm an adult now!) A great teen read!

I've finally gotten around to reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower after hearing everyone go crazy with the book and the movie. To be honest, after all the hype I was kind of let down by the book. The characters were kind of cute, but Charlie was just so innocent and at times (most of the time) i...

So after reading this book, I am glad I held off on watching he film adaptation because I wanted to read the book first. This was a smart choice on my part, because although I have still yet to see the film, I just don't know if the film will hold up to the book. Not to say that the movie will be ...

This was a stunning novel. I have procrastinated writing my review for a few days now, hoping that while I waited, the things I wanted to say would magically become clear, but alas, I have had no such luck. This book has been on my TBR for a number of years, but for one reason or another, I was just unable to get around to reading it, but after hearing a number of times on a number of podcasts, I knew I had to read it. I felt that for the first little bit of the book was a bit slower than I had expec...

Child sex abuse and mental breakdown of a teenager is the most memorable scene. Charlie played by Logan Lerman in the movie make me changed my mind about this movie and probably the book as well. Teenagers who blamed themselves for what happened in the world around them are more likely to be dep...

This book has been compared to The Catch and the Rye. These two books are only similar in the way a paper bag and a plastic bag are used to carry groceries. Yes they both have a teenage protagonist. Yes they deal with all the commonly glorified themes of teenage life. And… that’s it. Interestingly, ...
