I had to put The Book of Saladin aside. I knew that I couldn't get it read by the due date, so I renewed it and put it at the bottom of the pile. It's wonderful. I'm hoping I'll have time for it before my semester starts.
I'm currently reading the R2R book, Guises of Desire by Hilda Reilly which is about the first psychoanalysis patient, Bertha von Pappenheim known in case literature as Anna O. It's been interesting. I feel that I understand her case for the first time. I identify with her family situation.

Really liked it. Pressfield never disappoints!
Wings of Fire, a historical mystery set in 1919 Cornwall. Three dead half-siblings, labeled as 2 suicides and an accidental death. Was that the case, or were one or more murder?

Sounds interesting -- how are you liking it so far?
I'm liking it. (I liked the first book in the series, despite a slightly out of left field ending, too. That was "A Test of Wills.")
Sigh. Another series to look into ... Thanks! :)
Finished Legeionary 2, now reading:

Sigh. Yes, I took a look at them and added them to my TBR list as well!
This is Shomeret posting her most recent read which is historical as is frequently the case. It's The Fire Kimono by Laura Joh Rowland. I usually take these 17th-18th century Japanese historical mysteries out of the library, but I really liked the title and cover so I bought it. It's turning out to be as predictable as I suspected it might be. This series has too many repeating character and plot dynamics. I'm not sure how much longer I want to continue. I really need a satisfying read and haven't had one in a while.
The Iron King, by Maurice Druon. Set in 1314 France, it is the first volume of his series of historical novels about the downfall of the Capets, and the start of the Hundred Years' War. I'm enjoying it. (He wrote them half a century ago, but translations into English until recently have been hard to find.)
