1) I created this group so that readers have a reader space on Booklikes. The M/M community on Goodreads has turned into nearly 90% author promotion whether that is by blog posts, pimping their books in status updates, friends pimping them, or jumping into reader conversations in reviews or even debates.

I will be honest: I do not like any author joining into a reader debate about tropes within the genre, but it's not something I can control and I hope that if authors do post here, it's not to defend themselves, reader opinion, or to pimp themselves. There is absolutely no pimping or promo within this group.

2) Even though I am the group's creator, I don't want to facilitate the group unless there is a problem, so feel free to make threads and discuss as you please. :)

Rules:

No promo or author pandering!
No giveaways.
No NSFW threads. We are not trying to sexualize this group. It's for discussion.
Respect every opinion.
I'd like to make this a sticky but Booklikes has a lot of tweaking to do with their discussion rooms.... >:(
Advice on the organization of this group? Should books have separate threads or genres?
If you want some book-centered threads, I think it would be fun to separate by genre...it would also have with recs/discussion about certain tropes within those genres.
Ah. Good idea. Thanks. :)
I think we should separate discussion by book. I was reading another thread in this group and it became confusing because the posters stopped referring to the book's name and the post themselves fell off into dreamland.
Which thread are you referring to? I could ask them to separate it. It's difficult to set any kind of set standard on the discussion on this website as they have not yet implemented stickies or various other options that are the norm for a forum.
