Other than The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, I tend to like my time travel with a little humor, as in To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis. The time travel book I enjoyed most recently is The Far Time Incident by Neve Maslakovic, and that has a sequel coming out in February that I can't wait to read.
This is the best of both worlds for me. I love Time Travel, and I'm loving HR too so together they're a killer combination. Haven't read many (yet) other than the Outlander series but I'm compiling a list of candidates for the TBR pile.
Outlander is a given so I'd say next favorite was The Winter Sea, VERY romantic. I want to read more from Susanna Kearsley!

I loved The Winter Sea. Her latest, The Firebird, has a tie-in to the ending of TWS and shouldn't be read out of order. Outlander books, tops for time travel, although I was very disappointed in Echo in the Bone.

Oh, good to know! I loved TWS, but was a bit burned out on SK. I'll definitely bump The Firebird up on my list.

Yeah, I need to space SK out too. I know Firebird is a bit woo-woo for some readers (the mind reading aspect), but I loved the bits in St. Petersburg. And oh those huge surprise twists at the end. Oh my.

PS, there's also a tie in to The Shadowy Horses (which I have not read yet). The young boy in that book (Robbie I think is his name?), is the hero/love interest in The Firebird present day storyline.
I am also a resounding yes for Gabaldon, Willis and The Time Traveler's Wife. Some older books that I like are: The Mirror by Marlys Milhiser, Replay, by Grimwood, and Lady of Hay by Barbara Erskine. I have Kearsley on my TBR list.

I read TWS a long time ago, will I miss the connection do you think and does it matter?
