Buddy read of Lord Peter Wimsey's first adventure.
Oh, I could be up for a revisit of this one. And I've got it nice and handy on my kindle.
Fabulous! I started it a couple of nights ago and it is really good fun so far. All the characters seem very engaging.
I'm about 15% in and already loving the inter-action between Wimsey and Bunter.

Having a quiet night in tonight so will be definitely reading a little more.
I also like the Dowager Duchess, who "was always of the greatest assistance to his hobby of criminal investigation, though she never alluded to it, and maintained a polite fiction of its non-existence".

I'm about halfway through now and have got a lump in my throat at Bunter's dealing with
Lord Peter's night-terrors. Everyone should have a Bunter to look after them

So true! Actually, this scene very much made the book for me. I wasn't that keen on Wimsey at the beginning because there seemed very little to posh lay-about. Knowing that he has a history of his own gave him much a more complex personality. I liked that.
Yep, up until that point, I though he was a bit of a playboy dilettante with not much substance to him. And then 'boom' the backstory is revealed.
