A short and rollicking read, it moves from mundane, petty crime into horrific domestic terroristic attack and back, along the way offering an enjoyable, easy reading experience that takes readers out of their daily lives – but not so far that they cannot find their way back home again. It is set in and around Trenton, New Jersey. The capital of the state, its history is intertwined with that of the United States as a whole – the more so since it once served as the national capital. It is also easily read as an emblem of the state as a whole.
