I enjoyed reading this book. At first I was sure that I would find the writing style annoying, but the fact that it develops along with Z's English made it fun to read. The ending of this book was a bit vague but still an enjoyable read.

She says that she loved it though and it like changed her life, and she actually skipped class to read it. It's fun reading books that mean a lot to other people.Twenty-three year old Z, of the unpronoun...

Written in broken English (which gradually improves) and using a word and its definition as the "hook" for each brief chapter. Some interesting insights into the differences between the two languages (no verb tenses in Chine...

This is the story of a Zhuang, a young Chinese woman who comes to England to learn English. While here, she has a relationship with a man who cannot commit to her, or to the future, or to anything very much. He's a very recognisable character, though to Zhuang he's a real mystery - at first, anyway....

I think I read it too slowly to really enjoy it. The concept is interesting, but I wouldn't call it amazing. Maybe I just wasn't in the right 'agonising over life and love' place.
