Their reunion goes viral—not only for the classic car he’s forced to donate, but the sparks that everyone but Ashley can see. Phillip (7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes Book 4)Phillip by Cristin Harber
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book #4, in the 7 Brides For 7 Blackthornes series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.

Ashley has grown up in her mother's shadow. Her mother always pushing her towards her belief in what should be the spotlight. Marry into the right family. Date the right man. Do not fall for an ex-boyfriend who has trouble being responsible. What if she wants to marry for love?

Phillip literally crashes an event Ashley is doing. Finding out his family has seen her regularly when he cannot even get over his broken heart..... it just guts him. The sparks fly whenever they are in the same room. He knows he has to take it slow to woo Ashley back into his life. How do you wait when your forever is right in front of you?

Such an amazing addition to this great series. This author is always a 1-click for me, and with this story she did not disappoint. Second-chance books can be tricky since I want them to be a realistic one as well. I loved the banter, the surprises, the heat, the pace - it just truly was a "let's turn the page and get to more" kind of read for me!

Phillip (7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes Book 4) by Cristin Harber
Phillip (7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes #4) - Cristin Harber

They loved. They lost. They moved on. Or so they thought. For Phillip Blackthorne and Ashley Cartwright, the damage of their not so distant past is about to wreak havoc on their all too recent, future. Harber brings out the big guns when it comes to romance. Phillip revisits a past gone wrong to help make another sad love song right. Phillip and Ashley are my favorite Blackthorne couple to date. With a dash of sentiment and a smidge of humor, Harber delves deep into heartbreak and finds heartwarming instead.

Perfect Mother
The Perfect Mother - Aimee Molloy,Cristin Milioti

A "May Mothers" group brought together by a Prospect-Park, Brooklyn-based website called "The Village" meets on a regular basis, usually in the park, to swap stories, share milestones, and commiserate on new motherhood.  The members' interactions began online, and expanded to real-life meet-ups.  The "May Mothers" signed up during pregnancy, and continued through the births and beyond.

In July, right around the time the babies are hitting the eight-week mark, some of the May moms plan a night out at a bar, without the babies, for a bit of fun. Single-mother Winnie is reluctant to participate, as she has no sitter, but group member Nell offers to lend her Alma, her nanny.

By the end of the night, Winnie's son Midas is missing. Earlier in the night, Nell had taken Winnie's phone--left behind on a table--and dropped it in her purse.  But the phone is nowhere to be found.  Winnie's house key had been tucked into a pocket attached to the back of the phone.  Did someone steal the phone and use the key?  And if so, who would do that?

Before long, the local news is obsessed with the missing "Baby Midas" story, and the other members of the "May Mothers" group are soon under the intense scrutiny of the media, crime blogs, and police.

I enjoyed this fast-paced narrative.  (Remember that *** = "good" for me; not "meh.")  I will say there were times when the lengths some of the "May Mothers" went to, in order to "help" with the case/insert themselves into the investigation strained credulity, and that is the one reason I didn't four-star this book.

Without giving anything away about the ending, I will say I did NOT see it coming.

Side note about the narration:  Cristin Milioti narrated the audiobook. In case you are doing exactly what I did--thinking "WHY do I know that name?"  Well, among other roles, she played the mother in How I Met My Mother.  I will add that she is an excellent narrator, and I would definitely make a point of listening to another book that she narrates.

Awesome Romantic Suspense
Delta: Revenge by Cristin Harber (2016-04-26) - Cristin Harber

Delta: Revenge is a fabulous romantic suspense by Cristin Harber.  Ms. Harber has once again impressed me with her storytelling abilities.  She has delivered a well-written book with a stellar cast of characters.  Javier wanted nothing but revenge on the men that sold his sister to the cartel.  He was recruited by the Titan Group when they promised him revenge.  Sophia learns that her almost-husband has been sleeping with her best friend in the middle of her wedding.  After a one night stand with Javier after the almost wedding reception, they go their separate ways.  Javier and Sophia's story is loaded with drama, humor, smokin' hot sex, action and suspense.  This story grabbed me on the first page and kept me glued to my Kindle until the end.  I can't wait to read more from Cristin Harber.  Delta: Revenge is book 2 of the Delta Series but can be read as a standalone.  This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
