When I read and reviewed Kim Harrison's young adult novel, Once Dead, Twice Shy I made a comment about it being (hopefully) a rare fumble for an otherwise great author. Having finally read the first in her adult urban fantasy series, The Hollows, I can definitely say that my thoughts proved true. Th...

Not too bad. It was a little hard to get into. It didn't really hold my interest until about half-way through it. Once she started turning into a mink it was non-stop chaos. And well that's how I like it. Rachel is a good character and I love love love Jenks. I'm anxious to find out who Keasley real...

Uh. Uh. I have to have more dialog in my books. I did not finish this book because there were pages and pages of endless descriptions of everything under the sun and absolutely no interaction or dialog. I just could not get in to it. I have no given up hope though. I have saved my copy to pick up an...

I enjoyed this book. It is a very light hearted, humorous urban fantasy book. I think the author has done a great job of creating the two main characters; Ivy who is a vampire and Rachel who is a witch. These two have quit their job and work together to help Rachel survive a death threat from the IS...

I had high expectations because people have talked this author up a lot. I liked it, but it didn't meet those expectations. I think I would have been happier if I had gone into the story without having ever heard anything about it before. I'll definitely keep reading though.

I actually rather liked this -- enough that I'm mildly interested in reading more of the series. Admittedly, I'm not interested in the, "I will go to the bookstore and scour the bookshelves for it," sense. Not even in the, "I will look for this at the library," sense. Okay, I'm not even intereste...

Rachel Morgan is a witch. She has quit her job with the IS to strike out on her own with her vampire friend Ivy. The IS does not like people who quit and they put out an assassination order on Rachel. Rachel is then pursued by all sorts of supernatural beings. This book hooked me from the beginning. ...

Was sooooooooo long... but I finished it. And, sadly, it is not long because it has so many pages, it is long because is very booooring!High Point of the book: Jenks… he is the only character that really makes me go on and finish the story. Funny, and always ready to fight, to defend his friend, Ra...

Got about third to a half through before I flung the book across the room.Well, I didn't really throw it across the room. I read it on a kindle so it would have been really stupid if I did. But I wanted to. Bad writing, despicable main character, and a plot that appears to have been constructed with...
