Fantasyland
A Princess of Mars - Edgar Rice Burroughs,John Seelye

I'm not sure why this one was marked fantasy, but, whatever works. :  )

Burroughs is always a fun read.

I can't decide if Capt. John Carter is just lucky or if he really is that good.

A little of both I think.

So far, I think Disney did a good job of bringing these characters to life.

On a side note, I'm gauging my ears. I'm up to a 6. And my left ear tore. Not a good thing. It hurts.

I got a new phone. The S7 Edge. I feel super fancy. It had the better specs against the Note 7. I'm sad to say goodbye to my Note 4. Anyway.....Yaya new toy.

So.....I saw this movie a couple of years back. Liked it well enough. Figured I would give the book a try. It's free for kindle. But I have the collector's edition from Barnes and Noble.

A Princess of Mars
A Princess of Mars - Edgar Rice Burroughs Good pulp sci-fi as John Carter finds himself on Mars fighting his way through the various tribes.
The action keeps coming thick and fast, making it an enjoyable page turner to pass a few hours with.

Pulp fiction from last century
A Princess of Mars - Edgar Rice Burroughs,John Seelye

The first in the John Carter books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, this is typical of his writing and pulp fiction of last century. Many chapters end on a cliffhanger as this was written for serialization. Action and adventure abound.
I love this stuff: it's simple fun story-telling that doesn't pretend to be more than that. This is a re-read for me but always worth coming back to.
