Rescued from her alien captors, the only person who makes her feel safe is a cold, emotionless cyborg.

Abducted from her exploration ship, paramedic Sage McAlister has spent months locked in cells and labs belonging to the Edull. Rescued by the cool, powerful cyborgs of the House of Rone, she finds herself among fellow human survivors on the desert world of Carthago. But despite being free, Sage feels cold inside and is struggling to cope. The only person she feels safe with—who she doesn’t feel the need to pretend with—is a deadly cyborg who feels nothing.

Forced into a military cyborg program as a teen, all Acton Vonn remembers of his past are violent missions and the cybernetic enhancements forced on him before he broke free. His emotions have been dampened to nothing for decades and he’s fine with that. It makes him an efficient member of the House of Rone. Yet the more time he spends with the copper-haired woman he helped rescue from the Edull, the more unfamiliar, strange, and perplexing things he starts to feel.

When a tip reveals that more humans are being held captive at a mysterious desert lake, Sage will stop at nothing to help rescue her crewmates. As she is drawn closer to Acton, she worries about risking her heart. Being with Sage breaks down barriers inside Acton and he struggles with the emotions he doesn’t want to feel. But deep in Carthago’s dangerous deserts, with the Edull hunting them, Sage and Acton will have to risk it all: their lives, their hearts, their souls.

Centurion is book three in the Galactic Gladiators: House of Rone series by Anna Hackett. I love Hackett. She is an amazing science fiction romance author.

Acton never understood why his fellow cyborgs kept falling for their Earth women, but when he helps rescue Sage, his world implodes. Acton is the most machine like of the House of Rone Gladiators, but everything changes when Sage moves in.

Sage was torn from her solar system and sold to the Edull. She was their prisoner and knows too well the danger they pose with their unspeakable robots. Now that she’s free she’s determined to find and save her fellow prisoners, but first she has to show the tasty looking Acton how good emotions can be.

I loved Acton and Sage’s story. They started out as friends, but quickly realized their attraction to each other. Acton was so sweet in how he helped Sage deal with find her place in this new world and the trauma that happened to her. On the other side Sage helped Acton find his feelings. I was delighted with their budding romance and that they both helped each other to heal and find love.

Besides the healing and romance we are treated to many action-battle scenes. There is no shortage of trouble from the Edull as the hunt goes on to find the Edulls hidden city and free the humans.

Centurion is another fabulous, entertaining, and exciting read. I can’t wait to get the next story in the House of Rone series.

Rescued from alien slavers, the only place she feels safe is in the brawny arms of a big, gruff cyborg.

Astrophysicist Dr. Jayna Lennox's life imploded the day her ship was attacked by aliens. Through months of captivity, she's survived by shutting down and not feeling. Then she's freed by the House of Rone cyborgs and finds herself in the arms of huge, tough Mace. Struggling to heal, Mace is the only thing that makes her feel safe. The only person who makes her feel like she isn't broken. But there are more of her crew members imprisoned in Carthago's desert, and Jayna will have to delve into her darkest memories to help save them.

Born to fight and bred for rage, Mace barely survived his gang-ridden homeworld. Thanks to Imperator Magnus Rone, he's found a place at the House of Rone. Unlike the other cyborgs, he feels, but only anger and annoyance. When a small, wounded human woman works her way under his skin, Mace finds himself feeling things he's never felt before...along with a powerful need to keep her safe.

Jayna vows to help find her fellow humans, even if it means revisiting her nightmares and being part of a dangerous mission into the desert. But as the passion between her and Mace explodes, she finds herself with two battles on her hands: the battle to free the humans from their captors, and the war to win Mace's scarred heart.

Defender is book two in the Galactic Gladiators; House of Rone series by Anna Hackett.

This is another amazing story in the series. Hackett delivers another action-packed and fast-paced read. In Sentinel, book 1, we rescued another human women, Jayna, and in Defender we get to see her and Mace’s romance.

Mace can’t stop thinking about Jayna after rescuing her. Jayna is broken. She’s been beaten down, but she’s not broken. Mace is so sweet with Jayna. He pushes her to come out of her shell. Their romance is so sweet and endearing. I loved seeing how Jayna changes Mace and vis versa.

As is the way, we get new information on the missing humans and the hunt for Edull City is on.

Defender is engaging and so much fun! The world keeps expanding and more characters are introduced. Their is no shortage of action and romance.

When Quinn Bennett's exploration ship is attacked, the security chief finds herself abducted by alien slavers. Unable to save her crew, she is taken across the galaxy and sold to a desert scavenger on the lawless planet of Carthago. Driven by her guilt and failure, she'll do anything to escape and save the other abductees from her ship. Chained and forced into servitude, she's waiting for her chance to strike, when across a dusty trading post, she comes face to face with a big, cyborg gladiator.

But when he rescues the fierce, relentless Quinn, he starts feeling a rush of emotion he's never experienced before.

Quinn and Jax join forces to track down the aliens holding the other Earth women captive. Side by side, they venture into the desert and uncover a desire hotter than the desert suns. While cyborgs might not feel emotions or feelings like others, they understood loyalty.11% - Sentinel

Sentinel is book one in the Galactic Gladiators; House of Rone series by Anna Hackett.

This new series is in the same world as her Galactic Gladiators. Here we get to dive into the House of Rone; which is the home of the Cyborgs. They have been an active member with the House of Galen in locating the human’s captured and enslaved

I loved the House of Galen and was, so excited to meet the Cyborgs and get their stories. These are the men who are more machine then human.

Jaxer is one of the few Cyborgs who freely admits that he is more in touch with his emotions then most Cyborgs, yet he has no idea how much a human female can change his world.

Quinn is determined to escape her captors and find the others who were captured with her. She’s tough and determined.

This is another fast-paced standalone romance that was so much fun to read. Quinn was a delight and one of the authors more formidable females. She doesn’t know when to quit and she proves this time and time again. Jaxer and Quinn were perfect. They are such a kick-ass couple.

Jaxer and all the other Cyborgs were fun. I liked getting to meet the Cyborgs in the House of Rone. They each have unique abilities that make the action scenes that much more outstanding. The world Hackett has created just keeps expanding.

Sentinel was another fun, sexy, and all-around fabulous read. If you are looking for a Science Fiction Romance series to try then I highly recommend this spin-off series.

Abducted by alien slavers and taken to a lawless desert world, the last thing she expects is to be claimed by a handsome alien rogue. Rogue contains two action-packed novellas in the Galactic Gladiators series.

Information Rogue: arrogant information merchant Zhim doesn't know what hits him when he collides with feisty human hacker Ryan.

Rescued by the humans and gladiators from the House of Galen, Ryan Nagano is working hard to piece her life back together. Her priorities are conquering her anxiety, recovering from her captivity, and using her exceptional computer skills to help the House of Galen decrypt alien data that could reveal the location of other abducted humans. That's all she's focused on. But when she needs help, she finds herself having to work with arrogant genius Zhim...and discovers that the two of them redefine the word explosive.

Zhim thrives on the need to uncover information and ensure his wealthy, carefully constructed life is exactly as he wants it. Then one infuriating menace of a woman blasts into his life. Ryan matches him skill for skill, drives him crazy, and worms her way under his skin. But forced to take her deep into Kor Magma's shadowy hacker underworld, Zhim soon learns exactly what he's willing to risk to keep Ryan safe.

Desert Rogue: prickly, independent human Neve doesn't want or need any help...but a certain cocky desert rogue isn't taking no for an answer.

Neve Haynes survived her abduction through grit and determination. She's always made her own way through life, depends on no one, and is determined to achieve her own personal mission. So as she sneaks out of the House of Galen, the last thing she needs is help in the form of a tawny-haired, lean-hipped caravan master with more confidence and swagger than any man she's met before.

Corsair is a man of the desert and leader of the Corsair Caravan. He listens to his gut and something about Neve draws him in. He can't let her go off and get herself killed, but she's the most skittish, strongest woman he's ever met. As they trek deep into the desert on a dangerous mission to find a map to an infamous desert arena, they will fight side by side and be forced to depend only on each other to survive. And in Carthago's desert sands, they will uncover a desire that burns hotter than the desert sun.

Rogue is book eight in the Galactic Gladiators series by Anna Hackett. This book has two novellas in it which feature Ryan and Zhim and Neve and Corsair. I like that the author put these two novellas into one book.

I love this series! The world keeps building and we always get to see something new. The two stories here branch off and feature secondary characters that have been helping out the Gladiators in searching for the human’s that have been captured and imprisoned.

Information Rogue: Zihm and Ryan’s Story

Both are computer/information geeks. They pit their wits against each other which transfers into fun and hilarious banter and competition. Zhim is the information broker on the plant. He’s the one you go to when you need information. Ryan is determined to help find the remaining missing humans.

Desert Rogue: Corsair and Neve’s Story

Neve is a bad ass. She has a hidden agenda, but now she’s trapped on Kor Magna and her agenda has changed. Corsair is a caravan leader. He’s the pirate of the desert. These two team up to navigate the deadly landscape that is second nature to Corsair.

As always we are treated to action, danger, and romance. The over all ARC progress and we learn that their are more survivors to save. We are also treated to glimpses of the Gladiators. Both novellas progresses quickly and where enjoyable. I just wish they were a bit longer.

Beast is book seven in the Galactic Gladiators by Anna Hackett.

This was another entertaining read in this series. I devoured the Galactic Gladiators series one book at a time.

In Beast we get answers to one of the relative newcomers to the House of Galen, Vek.

Vek our blue alien who was also rescued from captivity. He’s wild, dominate, and pumped full of drugs like the human male. He’s the ultimate BEAST of an alpha. The only thing that seams to soothe his rage and bring some reason is Mia and her voice.

Mia was abducted by the alien slavers, rescued, then abducted again, and rescued. She’s sweet, tender, and thoughtful. When her friends and Vek are under attack she has a spine of steel.

Vek and Mia complemented each other. Vek’s a true hero and yet at times so fragile. My heart melted for him. Then bring in Mia a lover of music and we get to discover if music can feed the soul and heal. Their romance was sweet.

Theirs no shortage of action and adventure. The world keeps building and new characters keep popping up.

Beast is another enjoyable reading the Galactic Gladiators series. If you enjoy science fiction romance then Hackett is an author for you to try.
