My Appearance on Books on Third
Rumpled - Lacey Louwagie

The Marshall Area Fine Arts Council (MAFAC) recently opened/rebranded Books on Third, a gift shop that sells awesome artwork, jewelry, and BOOKS by local and regional authors. I was honored to be one of the authors invited to attend the grand opening. I went through the store’s stock of my book, Rumpled, at the event and got to leave a new stack for the store’s inventory. As a stay-at-home mom who fits all my writing into nooks and crannies (mostly journaling and book reviews since those forms cope most easily with the interruptions of a toddler waking from his nap), it’s always so reaffirming to spend some time immersed in my “writing self.” Thank you, MAFAC, for granting me the opportunity to be seen as a writer first for a couple hours last week!

Photos below.

The books featured at the Books on Third opening. My family has copies of Grasshopper Girl, Called, The Gift, and the Marsco Dissident.

Dear Abby

I started a new "Dear Abby" blog post section from readers, answered by one of my readers!

Dear Mia & Sugar,
I want to attend a book signing(s), but there are SO many types to choose from. I must admit—I am overwhelmed and am in need of book signing advice.

I'm BOOKED...

Image result for im booked

Consider me booked for the next few months! Remember a while back when I told you guys that I went to my first book signing and that I wanted to participate in more? Well my favorite little cozy book store here in Houston has released a great lineup of author meet and greets and book signings for the upcoming months. Just in the next few months I am planning  to attend at least 4 events of some of my favorite authors: Miranda James, Walter Mosley, Lisa Gardner, and Jeffrey Deaver. I am way too excited and definitely looking forward to these events.

I am looking forward to see what other events they have in store for the rest of the year.

Let's chat: Have you ever attended an author meet and greet or book signing?  Who would you like to meet?

Robert McCammon Book Signing/THE LISTENER Preview!

Meant to post this earlier in the week but forgot. Author Robert McCammon did a reading and signing at Alabama Booksmith in Birmingham, AL. on Tuesday night. It was a fun, relaxing, and informative night. Mister McCammon is incredibly nice and took the time to sign everyone’s books — even books attendees brought from home. He is one of my biggest inspirations and favorite authors. It was an honor to get to listen to him, and speak with him one on one. One of the highlights was discovering the store had in stock a first edition of Speaks the Nightbird, and getting it signed by the author.
