Happy Caturday-Dorothy Must Die Inspired
I always have a friend to read with. Thanks Amity.
No Place Like Oz - Danielle Paige

Saturday's have now become Caturdays . I have my own loveable ball of fur, Amity, named after the town in the movie Jaws which I am a scuba diving cult fan since before my birth. I was able to watch a rerelease of the movie in theaters as a small child (after much begging) prior to the theatrical showing of Jaws 2, which I also watched. I've seen all the Jaws movies, read the book, and had a chance to meet and question the author, Peter Benchely, at a Nature Conservatory program. As a child, as soon as I could talk, I stated that I wanted to be a marine biologist and study sharks....which I did when I grew older. Amity used to have a big brother named Brody, after Roy Schreider's role as Chief Brody. I am a movie nerd and specialize my geekdom in the horror genre. Thus Amity's full name is Amity De'Ville Horror....because she was just that as a kitten, even 9 years later she hasn't grown out of her kitty phase or knack into getting herself in trouble. If you hear something go bang in the night don't assume it's a ghost or burglar, it is her getting herself into trouble or unstuck from getting caught committing another act of selfishness.

So why Caturdays? Simple. I don't have a dog yet, if I did I would probably name it Hooper (because in Jaws "Hooper drives the boat"). I've been collecting pictures of Amity and that of other friends to create my own memes. I haven't gotten that far yet with a the work that I've been doing. Thankfully Facebook and the internet are filled with a large inventory until I get around to making my own. Every Saturday I'll post a picture, video, or meme of a cat or something feline-ish, hopefully related to what I've been reading, based on my actions or mood at the time.

This Caturday is inspired by my reading of Danielle Paige's There's No Place Like Home,  the prequel to Dorothy Must Die. An interesting read taking the tales of L. Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz series and exploring it from a different perspective. Now that I have finished the prequel I'm excited to get swept up in a tornado to continue down the yellow brick road, where Dorothy finally feels at home, to see how the adventure continues.

Happy Caturday! See me next week for another feline inspired post. Meow for now....
