Mr. Big - Delancey Stewart

I have never read this author before and was asked to read this book in exchange for an honest review.    I must say, I was very impressed.  The characters were likeable...the story was funny and interesting....and I just couldn't put this book down.

Oliver Cody's world has completely imploded.  The world as he knew it has been turned upside down by a horrible event.  First he was on top of the world, and next he was crashing down at the bottom.  Ollie is the CEO of Cody Technology, having taken over the reigns from his dad.  The last thing he wants to be doing is working so he takes a six week break from his life.  When Ollie shows back up at the office one day, he stops at the company coffeehouse and runs into someone who has given him back a spark of life.  Enter Holland O'Dell. Oh, man did I LOVE this meeting.  Great laugh out loud sparring!  Ollie realizes he needs to know more about this girl.

Holland O'Dell has dreamed of working at Cody Technology pursuing her love of statistics and sports.  Fresh from earning her master's degree, Holland gets hired on at Cody Technology, but not doing what she had hoped to be doing.  It seems to get that job, you need to be a male.  Holland just plans to work on a secret project that she can woo upper management with that would guarantee her a promotion.  She is going to improve the company's StrokeStat program that is no longer be used and customize it for Major League Baseball.

Ollie starts hanging out at the coffeehouse hoping to run into Holland again.  Of course he does and then the real fun begins.  He realizes she is working on StrokeStat.  Considering he designed and wrote it, and she has no idea who he really is, he knows this will be fun.  He finally gets Holland to agree to let him help her with the hope of spending more time together.  As they spend more time together, things really begin to blossom and turn serious pretty quickly.  Just when it looks like his life is finally improving, the rug gets pulled out from under him and he has to face his issues and decide what he really wants in his life.

Ollie and Holland together were great.  The awesome banter in the beginning was priceless.  As their relationship progressed, things were only getting better.  Overall, I really loved these two characters and the journey they had to take to get to their happy ending.  I laughed, swooned and even cried.

After an accident in the line of duty, firefighter Roberto DeRosa’s life is turned upside down. His career fighting fires is over, and he’s left with an uncertain future and an injury that makes communicating difficult for him. The only time words flow easily is when they’re lyrics and he has a guitar in his hands. Talking to women is definitely out, especially if they have bright blue eyes that seem to see right into his soul.
Dani Hodge is on the brink of realizing her dream of opening a small combination wine and book store in San Diego’s funky Ocean Beach neighborhood. But before she can open the doors, there’s work to be done, more work than she can do herself.
When the tattooed guy who completely ignored her at a bar walks by and offers her a hand wrangling a tile saw, Dani can’t afford to say no—and why would she say no to Mr. Strong and Silent when his stare conveys more than words could?

This was a cute romance not very involved but flowed easy with a nice plot. The main characters Dani and Rob were easy to like and were quiet enjoyable to read about.

Rob is recovering from being in a coma.He still has issues and is not yet a hundred 100 percent.Still dealing with physical and mental issues he is working things out on what he plans to do with the rest of his life.Meeting Dani seemed to put the spunk back in him.Gave him hope and made him happy just by spending time with her.She was drawing him out of his shell little by little.

I loved Rob he had a sense of humor, was talented, somber and perhaps withdrawn and sweet but with everything he has gone through the past year you had to expect the good with the bad.

Dani had a vibrant personality was upbeat, funny, sweet and kind and had a sense of humor.

Dani and Rob's chemistry was apparent from their very first pages. The head over heels kind. These two made a really cute couple. With both working through their own insecurities their romance had some ups and downs but there was no doubt they truly cared for one another.

The story contained a great cast of characters .My favorite part of the story had to be the hide and seek games that Dani and Rob played with one another kept things interesting.

Light fun read that we throughly enjoyed. This was a first time author for us and as we enjoyed the story for me though I need more excitement and drama and romance in the books that I read.

4 stars from us

Adagio by Delancey Stewart
Adagio: A Hot Contemporary Romance (The Company Book 1) - Delancey Stewart

I adore dance...especially ballet. There is just a beauty in it that makes me in awe of the people who learn and become almost masters of this exquisite sport. But that is only what we see on stage, during the performance. What we don't see is the blood, sweat and tears behind the curtain. There is so much more to ballet than meets the eye, and sadly, what is portrayed in this story is part of it.

Before anything, I just want to commend this book cover, because it is initially what forced me to read the blurb of the book, and once I did that I was hooked. It is just such a beautiful cover, and probably one of my favorites.

Now, to the characters. I must give kudos the author for starting the story out with a creepy factor with Sebastian and his cringe-worthy antics. I got chills and uncomfortable feelings at the beginning of this book, to the point where I was almost wasn't sure if I was truly going to like the rest of the book. In my head I was like, I do not like this. Something is not right. And boy was I correct. But the beginning opened up into a relief when the character of Cain was introduced. I mean, a visible sigh of relief actually ran through me when he came into the picture. I was all YAY! The leading man! That is what made me continue reading. I just knew he was going to be what made this story grand.

I have to admit that there is a bit of a thriller aspect to this story. What with the reopening of the OD case of a former member of the company. There is this tension throughout the story that something happened...something big. And while I could not quite put my finger on it, I knew that somehow her OD wasn't just a mere accident. No sir. It was not.

I absolutely adored the parts of the story where Anna described how dancing made her feel. Her awe was reminiscent of my own when I used to perform music. It is just something that cannot be taught or forced. That passion has to be inside of you.

This is the story of two people with terrible pasts coming together through what they love most. It is a story of learning to trust, and protecting those you love. I am completely in awe, and I cannot wait to see what the next books in this series will unfold.
