Barbarian's Prize by Ruby Dixon
Barbarian's Prize: A SciFi Alien Romance (Ice Planet Barbarians) (Volume 6) - Ruby Dixon

So, Tiffany is one of the last unmated females and all single aliens try to impress the woman. It gets so bad that the idea of the competition is born. The winner gets the chance to escort Tiffany on her journey to the Elder's Cave (an old space ship).
I didn't like the idea of the competition because Tiffany actually didn't want it. She had already chosen the male she liked, but because of her insecurity and events from the past she didn't have courage to say anything. So, she fooled everybody and it made me hate her. I wanted her to have some backbone and say no. I wanted her to realize that these blue aliens who took her in and fed and sheltered her were nothing like the creeps who stole her. But she just didn't get it.
The only saving grace was the hero of the story. He was amazing - the way he courted Tiffany was just sweet. And he was so patient with her. He deserved a better mate than whimpering Tiffany who couldn't open her mouth to end this foolish competition.
I also realized that with every book I like Vektal and Georgie less and less.

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
My Life Next Door - Huntley Fitzpatrick

1 star for amazing Garrett family.
1 star for Tim, who sounded so real and made me smile several times.
0.5 star for the buying condoms scene. This was really funny and actually the only scene I liked Sam. She had no backbone, no personality and she was stupid (sitting in that car, having a best friend like that). Even her little rebellion at the end of the book didn't change my mind. She was annoying. I really don't know what Jase saw in her. And the ending, what the hell, it isn't a fairy tale. Give me a realistic ending, not that sugar coated nonsense.

Disliked the Way the Female Character Was Written
Wicked Heart (The Starcrossed Series) - Leisa Rayven

2.5 I would have given this more stars but it had some issues with the story that I am not okay with. A woman messing around with another woman's fiance. Worse is that she knows and likes the fiancee'. I am repulsed but back stabbing cheating women. Sure it turned out in the end, but the fact that she was physically crossing the line, just killed some praise from me. Then there was the whole, falling in love with him/her after one night, clinging to the memory for years....what a bunch of unbelievable BS. Why would I want to read about a woman who waits for years for somebody who dropped her, even if it turns another way ? If she would have said Hell No, I would have respected her character a lot more. I'm in the anti-doormat, anti-sleezebag club, thank you. The story is a second chance love story. They hook up, he gets on the success train and promises to return, snd he doesn't. He gets engaged to somebody else. They come to town, and happen to show up for work where girl #1 works and is still dreaming of him years later with no contact and his engagement. She gets her panties smokin', he gets his stretched, they lust, lust lust under the nose of the fiancee' for a minute too long.

The Chocolate Temptation - Laura Florand

DNF at 44%

I'm done! Patrick is such a manipulating asshole, and Sarah is just a f****k doormat ( why? Because she's Asian? :/) that at this point I just can't force myself to read another page.
And don't even get me started on sexual harassment accusations: she works under his orientation, and he has been playing with her!
So, yeah, no. You fooled me well, Patrick. I thought you were a sane/ funny kind of person.
Instead you're a manipulating psycho. -_-

Porn Money and Wannabe Mummy by Laura Barnard
Porn Money & Wannabe Mummy (The Debt & the Doormat Book 3) - Laura Barnard

This read was full of laughs and was definitely a page turner. I think a lot of people can agree with poppy when it comes to her mother and how she's "never wrong" lol and that for me was an awesome ice-breaker to start off with in this book. It had quiet a few LOL moments that kept it light and easy to read as well as dealing with every day life issues without all the doom & gloom. It is definitely a mood-lifting read and once I started laughing I laughed all the way through. Its not often you come across an author that writes stories like Laura Barnard and it goes to show what an awesome sense of humour she has. My Favourite part was the "frozen turkey in a hot bath" and if you think that's funny you should most definitely pick up a copy of this very enjoyable read and will want to continue with the series to read more about Poppy, Jazz and all the hilarious gang that Laura Barnard has created
