Appparently some people at a school got upset because of the Death Star eplosion and the fighting in this one.

Look, I don't understand it.  I really don't.  If you were going to ban anything associated with Star Wars (and why would you), it would be the stupid made for tv Ewok movies.  Those were so horrible.  I mean, Lucas doesn't want to take about the Christmas Special, but the Ewok movies are the truly horrible things.  

And I like Ewoks.  I was a kid when the movie first came out.  My Ewok sits by Chewie and on the other side sits Paddington Bear.  You don't like it, stick where the sun don't shine.

But the Ewok movies were horrible.  Even as a children I knew they were horrible.  Cute little blonde girl gets saved by Ewoks who reunite her with elder brother and then her family.  In the sequel, cute little blond girl's family gets killed off, but it's okay because by the end of the movie who cares.

Yep.  Ewok movies.  Nuff said.

This charming bit of either nerdish wonkery or wonky nerdery focuses on the failure of the Empire to either create or implement a field strategy that deals with counterinsurgency, I.e. It was bad for them to ignore, devalue or otherwise marginalize the Ewoks. Jawas are considered as a more successful relationship between the Empire and local forces, as the Empire bothers to cover its tracks, so to speak, when bombing civilian targets on Tatooine. Whether pinning imperial military action on the Tusken Raiders will further destabilize the area is not considered. 

I don't speak military very well, meaning much of this went right over my head, but this post had me grinning like a fool. Nerrrrrrrrds!
