REVIEW BY HELEN - Our Rules (Hot Wife #1) by Jennifer Kacey
Our Rules - Jennifer Kacey

When the foundation of their marriage falters, Michael and Tabitha must rediscover what it means for her to be his hot wife.

Tabitha is a hot wife. Not just a sexy wife. A hot wife. A wife allowed to be with other men with the permission of her husband.

Michael couldn’t love his wife more. Which is exactly why he shares her with others. Because she’s his.

On the cusp of everything they’re worked for—years in the making—a shattered promise threatens the foundation of their marriage. A foundation Michael had thought unbreakable until he lets Tabitha down in more ways than one.

Taking her submission for granted could lose him everything he’s strived for, and winning back her trust is the only thing that matters.

Coming home changes everything
No Place Like Home (The Coming Home Series) - Jennifer Kacey
I received an ARC of 'No Place Like Home' from Jennifer Kacey, in exchange for an honest review.

Being my second book from Jennifer Kacey & of a different genre than the first (which I loved), I went into 'No Place Like Home' excited. 'No Place Like Home' is book 1 in Jennifer's new series "Coming Home".

Finally becoming the person who she's always wanted to be Charlie, still finds it astonishing when a man even looks her way. No longer being the wall flower she was during High School, her best friend convinces her to travel home during the summer holidays to attend the hospital's annual fete, also to help out on the day. Finding herself home after so many years with no-one recognising her is freeing. Her first day home has Charlie delivering information about the fete to people helping out on the day, entering the the local FBI offices & coming face to face with her high school crush Coltrane Johnson, but he can't seem to remember her...

Whilst the story was short, I felt myself lost within it, I could have kept reading about Cole & Charlie. I can't wait to read what comes next in the series.

BLEW ME AWAY
Broken Silence (Black Hills Wolves #42) - Jennifer Kacey
Broken Silence (Volume 42) - Jennifer Kacey

I received an ARC of 'Broken Silence' from Jennifer Kacey, in exchange for an honest review.

What an introduction to Jennifer Kacey's writting, 'Broken Silence' was my first book from her & WOW. 'Broken Silence' is book 42 in the "Black Hills Wolves" series, I need to read MORE if this series.

Presley Ginger, known as PG to everyone has been trying for a while now to catch up with her college friend Saja to visit, when the go ahead on Saja's end arrives, PG is excited to finally see her. Upon arriving in Los Lobos PG meets Saja at the diner, when a hot waiter arrives to take her order, learning that he can't speak, PG does what she's done since she was little, she signs for him. Making everyone in the diner stop & notice what's happening. Paul can't talk, even when he wants to, he carries around note pads & pens, so when Saja's friend starts signing at him, he's finally able to 'talk' to someone....

TOTALLY BLEW ME AWAY, I want to read more from Jennifer Kacey.

Another Day, Another Author Denounces Ellora's Cave for Non-Payment

Many of you are well aware of the disaster that's become Ellora's Cave Publishing (hereafter referred to as EC) and the well documented issue they've been having with making payroll. Well, despite the settlement between EC and Dear Author/Jane Litte, another salvo's just been launched across the bow.

Last Friday Jennifer Kacey posted over on Decadent Divas, asking her fans to no longer buy her books. Reason being: she hasn't been paid any royalites since Feb 2015. Nope; that's not a misprint- those are her exact words. She also poses a good question: in what country on this planet is it legal for any business to get away with not paying its employees- in this case, authors? Answer: there isn't one. She also contends that all her request for arrears and information regarding them were met with misdirection and indifferent silence at best, deliberate baiting and condescension at worst.

"...In any other business that's considered illegal. Guess what? It's illegal in this business too but EC for some reason has decided they're immune to actually paying their authors. Have they paid some in recent months? Yep. Have they paid me. Nope.

So before somebody over there gets a bug up their ass this is my information. Mine. I'm not quoting anyone else, though I could. I'm not dragging the horrible treatment others have received into this, though I could. I'm going to tell you my story. All of this is fact. FACT.

I'm not defaming liabling name-calling or anything else. I'm simply asking everyone, my fans, my readers and anyone else who finds this post NOT to buy my EC titles. I'll be removing them from my site as well. My books. How sad." She also has a message for anyone thinking of signing on with EC: "To the new authors at EC - RUN!!! Not walk, or even speed walk. Grab your shit and leave as fast as you can. They are not a reputable publisher. They've called us bad apples for months because we actually wanted to be paid or we wanted our rights back. Well guess what?

At some point you'll want to be paid, too. Do not sign with them. Do not. We are leaving in droves for a reason. Lots of reasons. Thousands of rea$on$...

And I'm sorry, you are not a special snowflake when it comes to them. You will get stepped on and thrown aside just as quickly as we were. Learn from us. Please. If even one person reads this post and doesn't pub with them then it will be worth it."

You can read the entire post over at Decadent Divas.

Wonder how Tina Engler aka Jaid Black will try to spin this one...?

Great Anthology
Elite Ghosts: Six-Novel Cohesive Military Romance Boxed Set (Elite Warriors) (Volume 2) - Jennifer Kacey,Heather Long,Sabrina York,Anna Alexander,Saranna DeWylde,Rebecca Royce

Target Tungsten - Heather Long - 1 Star

Bradley “Tungsten” Peck has been a ghost for 4 years. When his team was on a mission and the building they had been in was blown up, his commander decided to keep them dead, even though most of them survived. Tungsten has been ghost stalking his girl over the years, even as she was forced to move on. He’s had to watch Copper meet and fall in love with Gabriel. Now they’ve finally been allowed to be revealed and he refuses to stay dead in her life.

This story didn’t work for me. I didn’t like the rushed agreement of sharing Copper. I didn’t get Tungsten’s determination to go after a woman that he doesn’t believe ever loved him. I certainly couldn’t figure out why Gabriel agreed to everything so quickly.

Zincs Heart - Rebecca Royce - 5 Stars

Sarah has been on a mission to find out what happened to her brother and his best friend Zach. They had been killed four years before on a mission. When she is kidnapped while investigating, she can’t believe it when it’s Zach (Zinc) that saves her. Now she’s determined to make him see all of the feelings she’s held since they were kids.

I can’t help it, I’m a sucker for the best friend’s sibling angle. This was my favorite story in the anthology. I just barrelled through it.  It flowed really well. The author showed how Zach is still suffering from the effects of what should’ve killed them. She also gave a nice change in dynamics in the bedroom scenes:)

Lithium s Rescue - Sabrina York - 4 Stars

Ben (Lithium) was sent to pick up a potential witness. When he got to her apartment, he found her being attacked. After getting Michelle out safely, he’s determined to protect her until he can safely get her to his people.

This story was pretty good. There were some quirks to it I didn’t really care for, but overall good story and continuation to the rest of the books in the anthology.

I find I'm really liking anthologies that take either have an ongoing plot or take place in the same area. At this point I haven’t read the last two stories, but just from the ones I read, I would recommend for anyone that likes this genre.
