Negative (Terran Times Second Wave, #19) by Viola Grace Review
Negative (Terran Times Second Wave Book 19) - Viola Grace

hanged by an injury, Aster starts a new life as a bodyguard and finds herself falling for war, death and sex.

Aster’s assignment as a bodyguard suits her temperament. She likes to boss folks around while keeping them where they are supposed to be. A fan of order, she enjoys her position away from Earth on a world where her services can be of use.

Dressed up like a doll for a costume party, she finds that fighting is part of the local community tradition and calling upon an ancient god is also traditional. She just never expected him to answer.

Yodin is an immortal who has been looking for another of his kind. Aster has only recently shed her previous life and entered the endless lifespan that he currently enjoys, but he intends to introduce her to the pleasure of an eternity with the god of war, death and sex.

The heroine is kickass and bossy. The plot goes a little weird when gods come into play but its a nice quick science fiction romance read overall.

Claiming Her Alien Warrior (Warriors of the Lathar, #4) by Mina Carter Review
Claiming Her Alien Warrior: Sci-fi Alien Warriors Invasion Romance (Warriors of the Lathar Book 4) - Mina Carter

In a race against the clock, she must betray his trust to achieve her mission… But fooling an alien warrior comes with a price.

No longer a captive but a guest of the alien warrior race, the Lathar, Jane Allen hasn’t forgotten what she is: a hard as nails marine major. Tasked with finding a way to beat the technologically advanced aliens, she needs to find answers for her superiors… before they arm the nukes and give the Lathar an excuse for war. Because the little green men aren’t so little. Or green… they’re large, ripped, scarily-attractive alpha male warriors hot enough to make any red-blooded woman weak at the knees. Especially one particular alien warrior with black hair and a sexy growl she can’t resist…

She’s his… she just doesn’t know it yet.

Karryl K’Vass has wanted the human woman, Jane, from the moment he saw her. But she’s a tricky one, evading his claim even though he knows she desires him. His campaign for her heart is stalled when duty calls him away; a mission into a dangerous part of space to gather intelligence on the Empire’s enemies. A beautiful stowaway is the last thing he needs, even if she does make his body burn. He’ll finish his mission and get her back to the safety of Lathar Prime… Then maybe he can claim her as his mate.

But no plan survives contact with the enemy. Reptilian mercenaries, a crash landing, and a case of amnesia later and they land in the clutches of their enemies who think it would be better if Karryl took a long walk out of a short airlock…

Review

Yea! A full length book! The heroine is a seasoned marine and isn't 20. I love her. I love this romance as the hero and the heroine become partners and respect, like, and have the hots for each other.

The world building is good. Very fun.

Warriors of the Lathar, #1-3 by Mina Carter Review
Captured by the Alien Lord (Sci-fi Alien Invasion Romance) (Warriors of the Lathar Book 1) - Mina Carter
Saved by the Alien Lord: Sci-fi Alien Invasion Warrior Romance (Warriors of the Lathar Book 2) - Mina Carter
Bonded to the Alien Lord: Sci-fi Alien Warrior Romance (Warriors of the Lathar Book 3) - Mina Carter

He's big, sexy and even his muscles have muscles. Any other day, she'd climb him like a tree... If he hadn't captured her, and her entire base that is.

Sergeant Cat Moore has a little problem. Well, actually a big problem... a big alien warrior sized problem. When her base is attacked and boarded by a Lathar war group, she finds herself in the sights of their leader, Tarrick K'Vass.

The strong, not so silent and ruthless type, Tarrick's duty as a war commander means little time for himself. With no women of their own, a base full of women is a bounty he can't ignore. Nor can he ignore the little human whose voice called out to him across the galaxy, a woman he'll stop at nothing to make his own. Even if it means a little blackmail...

2nd Book

Earth girls might be popular...but they're definitely not easy.

Kidnapped by sexy alien warriors, Cat and the women of the Sentinel Five base are looking for a way home. Their captors might be ripped, hot alphas looking for that one special woman, but these girls have this little thing against being slaves. Even if their leader is well on his way to stealing Cat's heart as well as her body...

Then a new player enters the arena. A dangerous rival war-commander has challenged the K'Vass claim on terran held space and all it's women. Tarrick K'Vass can't afford to let any of the earth women be captured, especially not his little human, Cat.

When his human is taken, he'll do anything to rescue her... Anything. Up to and including starting an intergalatic war.

3rd Book

oday is a good day to... get married?

Kidnapped by her very own alien hunk, Cat Moore is rapidly adapting to life as the chosen woman of bad-ass War Commander Tarrick K'Vass. It's not so bad. Her sexy alien has a thing about making sure her every need is met and has some very inventive ways of doing so. Until she gives him a bad case of mating marks around his wrist, and all bets are off. They're married without so much as a bended knee in sight, then summoned to the Imperial Court so the Emperor can bless their union.

Why? Because her sexy alien lover left one thing out when he introduced himself. Like being a freaking alien prince.

But someone doesn't want humans and lathar getting it on, and they certainly don't like the possibility of little human-lathar babies. In fact, they'd be more than happy if Cat and the other women didn't survive past the wedding.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned? Try a bride whose alien wedding just got gatecrashed. Seems humans might be more like the Lathar than anyone thought...

Review

While I had fun with this one and the next two in the serial, it is stupidly short. There is no reason for this love story to be broken into three pieces. Now, the breaking is nice as you feel hopeful about the romance but it feels wrong to me any way. Ends serial romance rant.

The heroine is a great never say die clever and practical wonderful lead. If you like alien abduction romance, this is a fun twist with an enjoyable hero.

However, there is crazy sauce that just gets ignored and not dealt with that might make some readers crazy.

The other kickass women in the book add to the goodness for me.

2nd Book

This middle part of the series picks up and our heroine shows how badass she is. Again, why isn't this all one book?

3rd Book

This book brings us to the wedding with more action and getting to know the planet the aliens are from.

Again, hate serials but I bought them all and enjoyed them. All out at the same time for me so little pain.

Kyele's Passion (A World Beyond #4) by Michelle Howard Review
Kyele's Passion: A World Beyond Book 4 - Michelle Howard

Being a Jutak warrior is all Kyele Bastien cares about until one mission changes everything. The Earth female has carved a place in his heart without even trying and now he’ll do anything to make sure nothing ever hurts her again.

Rescued from a Marenian slave auction, Joni Miller is relieved to have her life back but there’s one man making it difficult to remember why she shouldn’t want to think about happy ever after any more.

An enemy’s need for revenge puts Joni in the path of danger and unleashes the fury of an elite soldier with dark abilities.

Review

This is a great romance between a kick ass weary heroine and guarded alien hero with amazing powers based on his heritage.

The the two leads are so great that little plot blips (like why would she do that) can be forgiven as we have this love story in a fully realized world, visits with other couples, and the series plot arc.

Good stuff!

Soros by Vi Voxley Review
Soros: Alien Warlord's Conquest (Scifi Alien - Human Military Romance) - Vi Voxley

Kat Edwards is a woman who doesn't consider failure as an option. As a bounty hunter, she's seen the worst that the galaxy has to offer and she's not afraid of it. Or, at least she thought she'd seen the worst. But a certain Corgan warlord might just change her mind on that.

Soros is more myth than man. The warrior who has trained all the warlords of note, he is feared and respected, lauded and despised in equal measure. Wanting no part in the wars being waged between his own people with the recent upsets in Corgan society, the warlord still finds himself getting swept away in the madness, held at sword-point by one of his own students.

It only takes one woman for this warlord to realize that he can remain neutral no longer. It only takes one night for him to realize what is at stake - not only the universe, but her safety as well.

Being pushed by impossible odds, Soros and Kat have no other choice but to push back. No wonder that they can't help but keep finding one another in all that tragedy.

Can Soros become more than a myth and claim his rightful place on the side of good, or are some sacrifices just too hard to make? Can Kat capture her bounty one last time?

Review

This is a fun series full of action and insta love (sometimes annoying and sometimes not) and this might be my favorite in the series.

The hero is a complete badass. However, he isn't undefeatable and his choices are more interesting than his skills.

While the set up to getting the hero and heroine (also a badass) together is lame the time they spend on the run and fighting together gives them a compelling romance which this series is often lacking.

Good stuff!
