Disliked the Way the Female Character Was Written
Wicked Heart (The Starcrossed Series) - Leisa Rayven

2.5 I would have given this more stars but it had some issues with the story that I am not okay with. A woman messing around with another woman's fiance. Worse is that she knows and likes the fiancee'. I am repulsed but back stabbing cheating women. Sure it turned out in the end, but the fact that she was physically crossing the line, just killed some praise from me. Then there was the whole, falling in love with him/her after one night, clinging to the memory for years....what a bunch of unbelievable BS. Why would I want to read about a woman who waits for years for somebody who dropped her, even if it turns another way ? If she would have said Hell No, I would have respected her character a lot more. I'm in the anti-doormat, anti-sleezebag club, thank you. The story is a second chance love story. They hook up, he gets on the success train and promises to return, snd he doesn't. He gets engaged to somebody else. They come to town, and happen to show up for work where girl #1 works and is still dreaming of him years later with no contact and his engagement. She gets her panties smokin', he gets his stretched, they lust, lust lust under the nose of the fiancee' for a minute too long.

How Did She Not Die From Alcohol Poisoning ?
Broken Juliet - Leisa Rayven

This was a 4 star listen for me except for the excessive drinking, it dragged it down to -three. The first half + of the story she was drinking, grabbing a drink, wanting a drink, being drunk, sick drunk... ARGUGH ! I understand she was messed up in the head/heart but it consumed the pages to the point I was getting a contact high. I would have liked to hear about it less and more about her time with Tristan or even more wallowing, anything.

Sadly what I got out the the first 5-65% was just "Forget this thinking I'm getting drunk" Boring !!

They had a ton of damage to repair, scar tissue to remove and trust to build. This all happened in the last 1/4 of the book which was fabulous. I loved the choices they made, they were intelligent, respectful and not buried in alcohol. The relationship, and the characters finally became more. The ending was not a shock but I was shocked at how they got there. The maturity level jumped.
Can you tell I'm not fond of the drink till drunk solution to life in my entertainment ? It doesn't work and it to glorified by authors/media/social circles far too many times. I have a personal issue with this common acceptance alcohol abuse. Two times I've been nearly killed by drunk drivers and 4 times so far I've lost friends to alcohol stupidity. Yeh I am riding my high horse, perhaps but this is my opinion.

Drama Rama That Worked
Bad Romeo - Leisa Rayven

Audiobook- excellent narration
This book has been reviewed enough times. You don't need another review of the story. This was a book I would have passed on if it weren't for some friends reviews. They sold it, and I'm so glad I listened. Romantic, intense, infuriating and sweet.
Great characters with realistic problems that made me want to scream in frustration. They are both young, dumb, insecure and carry issues around, love/lust came at them fast and they weren't really ready for it. So they dove in, got trampled, broke into bits and then their was a knock on the door. Fade to black, it ended on one heck of a cliffhanger.
Yes, I had to click away to get book 2 in the middle of the night ! Warning get both books don't wait.
