Love Means... No Boundaries - Andrew Grey
Nice traditional romance with an HEA. I liked this story very much and it was excellent counter programming to my other current read Black Flags: The Rise of ISIS. This is my first romance with a blind character, and I thought it was well portrayed. But does he have to fall for the guy with the scarred face who is terribly self conscious of his disfigurements? That just seems a bit too convenient and kind of waters down the message of acceptance.

The Idiots' Tango
The Idiots' Tango - B. Snow

4 wonderful stars!

Now, this was a great answer to this prompt!

Josh and Stu are both a little akward, both a little lost, and even though they don't see each other that often over the years, when they do, things heat up pretty damn fast. Mostly in a hostile way. No matter what the circumstances, or the occasion. They meet, they exchange and things escalate.

It was wonderful to watch their interactions over the years. And even though I'm not a big fan of the "misunderstanding-leads-to-enemies" - trope, this one was done so well and so smoothly, I fell right in and never got out until the very end. It was like an adult version of the neverending pulling of pigtails gone bad. Awesome! And soo delicious in the end. Maybe a little too smooth, considering the history these two share. But other than that? Wonderful!

Definitely one of my favorite LHNB stories! Read it and prepare to smile and shake your head at the same time.

Scrum
Scrum - P.D. Singer

Sweet, good on the sports facts, but otherwise kind of... forgettable. Literally. I completely forgot I read this already while looking at in the kindly store. It took me another review to realize which story it was and when I read it.

So, yeah. Nice, and after reading about the characters again, I rembered the story. But the fact that I forgot the MCs and their story in the first place? Not impressing. So, that would be 2 stars. Okay, but nothing more.

Hands-on Justice
Hands-on Justice - Laurie Terson

Huh...

I'm not sure about this one. I liked the idea behind it and how the prompt came to life through the characters. But, come oooon. Sex on a rock out in the open when there's a killer hot on your heels? One of the worst the cartel could have sent? Puhleeease. Just no.

While I enjoyed the crime/suspense story line, the romance felt a little rushed and forced to me. The epilogue was... meh. I guess, I liked it, but not more than that.

Open Arms and Open Eyes
Open Arms and Open Eyes - Michelle K Grant

I was surfing YouTube the other day and I came across a vlog my boyfriend made. I didn’t even know he had a YouTube channel. He’s never told me he makes videos. He obviously wants to remain anonymous because he’s using a fake name. I only watched two of them.

Weeeell,...

The idea was good. An inventive, but ambitious way to interpret the prompt, and the writing was good.

But I think this was too ambitious. The story tried to cover some complex, deep and kind of dark themes in very little time and pages. In the end, it was okay, but these kinds of topics (such as drug use, addiction, anxiety) just requires more depth and lenght to really work for me. It was also a little confusing at times.

Not my favorite story, and one that could have a lot more potential as a full-lenght novel with less back and forth.
