Dying To Be Me: My Journey from Cancer, to Near Death, to True Healing by Anita Moorjani
By Anita Moorjani - Dying To Be Me: My Journey from Cancer, to Near Death, to True Healing (12/27/11) - Anita Moorjani

After fighting cancer for four years, Anita's body began to shut down and she went into a coma. It was in this state that Anita had her near-death experience. She learned what caused her cancer, learned that we are all one and that she is a magnificent being.

This is a beautiful book. The message it contains is important and powerful.

The book is under 200 pages, sometimes it repeats itself, but I really think it is worth a read. I found a lot of things Anita said resonated with me. I think it is really a wonderful book and I enjoyed reading it.

Resurrectionists: Near Death Experience by Fred Van Lente
Resurrectionists: Near Death Experience (Ressurectionists) - Fred Van Lente,Maurizio Rosenzweig

Reserrectionists are a group of people that for three millennium has been trying to pull of the same heist to free their souls. Yes, once they were Egyptians and the evil Pharaoh trapped in the “afterlife” with him. The "afterlife" means not heaven or anything instead are they reborn over and over again and they need to be unlocked to know that they have lived before.

It was a bit confusing in the beginning since the story just started without any real explanation to anything going on. Just sit tight and try to keep up kind of opening. Fasten your seatbelt and we will take you on a ride. And, what a ride. I admit that I was a bit skeptic in the beginning, but then the story started to unfold and the character's past and present started to make sense and that is when I started to enjoy the story. And, of course it ended with a cliffhanger.

The art part was quite good, I think it suited the story even though large breasted women seemed to be the only option when it came to drawing women. But that is hardly anything new when it comes to graphic novels.

I enjoyed reading Resurrectionists, it was a perfect read when I needed a break from my books.

I received this copy from the publisher through Edelweiss in return for an honest review! Thank you!

My Descent Into Death by Howard Storm
My Descent Into Death: A Second Chance at Life - Howard Storm

While on a trip to Paris in 1985, Howard Storm became very sick and needed an operation immediately. But after 9 hours in the hospital without surgery, Howard's condition became worse and worse until he just couldn't hold on any longer.

Not believing in God or any sort of an afterlife, Howard was surprised at what he found when he died and it forever changed him.

I first found out about Howard Storm after seeing him on an episode of Unsolved Mysteries. I've been interested in near-death experience for a long time and found his story interesting. You don't always hear about people having hell-like experiences when they have a near-death experience.

From what he said on his interview on Unsolved Mysteries, he was an atheist and just not a very not person in general. He had no belief in God, an afterlife or anything. He thought that when you die, that's it. You just don't exist anymore.

I wanted to read this because I wanted to know more of the story. I know not all of it was covered in Unsolved Mysteries.

I liked the whole book, but I think for me the best part was the beginning and when he had his near-death experience. I do believe Howard Storm. His experience is truly amazing and I see that it has changed his life for the better.

However, I do think that not everyone who is looking for answers will be able to find them in this book. Not because that it isn't good because it is and Mr. Storm is very detailed about his experience. But it does become very obvious that he became very religious and it's not that there is anything wrong with that, but I know it will turn some people away.

His view is much more Christian than say Dannion Brinkley, another person who had a near-death experience. I've read two of Dannion's books and while he does say he believes in God, that God is all love, just how he writes about it and even in interviews, expresses and explains it differently than Howard Storm. Dannion Brinkley didn't become religious, he just believes in the Great Spirit (or God if that's what you prefer, I prefer Great Spirit).

But I think Howard's story still needs to be read. Ultimately Howard and Dannion's message is the same: Love everyone, love is important, love, love, love. And that is truly an amazing message.

I know it can be hard to love everyone, especially when some people do such horrible things. But I do think it is possible to love everyone, but just dislike what a person does. And that's the message Howard Storm is trying to get across. I think he got it across pretty clear with his book.

If you're into reading about near-death experience, I'd recommend checking out this book.

At Peace in the Light by Dannion Brinkley
At Peace in the Light: The Further Adventures of a Reluctant Psychic Who Reveals the Secret of Your Spiritual Powers - Dannion Brinkley,Paul Perry

In total Dannion Brinkley has had three near-death experiences. The first in 1975 and the second in 1989, both of which are covered in this book and his first book, book:Saved by the Light.

After having his first near-death experience, Dannion Brinkley was a changed man. And this book continues his journey after having his first two near-death experiences.

I read the first book only a week or two ago and loved it. It is a life changing book. This book is just as great, but I think I liked the first one more. This one is still a wonderful read.

It is really interesting to read how he has changed since first near-death experience. And I liked the stories he shared of his hospice work. I just think it is great he sits and talks with people and helps to lessen their fear of death. I think he is really doing great things.

I can't wait to meet Dannion in July. And if you've read the first one, I recommend this one as well.

Saved by the Light by Dannion Brinkley
Saved by the Light: The True Story of a Man Who Died Twice and the Profound Revelations He Received - Dannion Brinkley,Paul Perry

In 1975 at 25 years old, Dannion Brinkley was talking on the phone and struck by lightning. He died, went through a life review, seen crystal cities and was told to build centers. He was also given prophecies of things to come.

He was dead for 28 minutes and when he came back, he couldn't move. All he could do was blow on the sheet to show he was still alive.

It took Dannion a long time to recover, but he was a changed man. And in 1989 Dannion had a second near death experience. His heart was so damaged from the lightning strike that it was going to give out if they didn't do surgery.

After having a talk with Raymond Moody, Dannion agreed to the sign the papers so they could do surgery. During the surgery he died again and had his second near death experience.

I think I first found out about Dannion Brinkley when I was in my early teens. I had watched a documentary about near death experience. Dannion was one of the people on there talking about his near death experiences and I have liked him ever since and have wanted to meet him.

This is the first time I've read his book, but I already know a lot about him. I've read a lot about him online, even the reports of his supposed fraud.

I've been into paranormal things for years and when it comes to psychics, people who have near death experiences, etc, I know there are those that will always try to discredit people with such abilities and experiences.

I'm sure there are people who have lied about near death experiences and I know there are people who have faked psychic abilities. Does this mean all psychics are fake? No, it doesn't. Does this mean all people who claim who had have near death experiences are lying? No, it doesn't. And All that I have read about Dannion Brinkley, even those trying to discredit him, I do not believe he is a liar.

I feel that he is an honest person. A person that really cares about people and I'm happy to say that I will be meeting him in July.

This is an amazing book. It's well-written and besides his own story, Dannion shares stories of others who have had near death experiences. Some are really touching and all are just amazing.

This is just a great book that gives you a lot to think about. And it definitely makes you want to careful on how you treat people. I always try to treat everyone with kindness, but this is a nice reminder that everything you do affects people. If you're nice, kind and caring, it is good feelings. But if you're mean and hateful, It's feelings of sadness, anger and others.

This really is a life changing book and I'm glad to have read it.
