However, not all of the surprises were good this year. While I was not affect in that I had no reviews deleted, I was hurt and appalled at what had happened to a community I'd come to care a great deal about. I'm glad that it led me here to Booklikes, but it rather soured me on reading for a bit. Also, several books I'd been looking forward to for quite awhile turned out to be less then ideal.

The Naming (The Books of Pellinor, # 1) - Or bored, Bored, BORED.
The Naming - Alison Croggon

As it has been some time since I last tried to read this book (my fifth such attempt), I don't remember enough to write a full review of it. Since I didn't even finish it - though getting farther than I have ever done - perhaps that is best.

Crapclassics # 4: The Giver
The Giver - Lois Lowry

*Sigh*

 

I know it's a classic.

 

I know everyone loves this book.

 

I know it's a must read for YA.

Crapclassics # 3: Lord of the Flies
Lord of the Flies - William Golding

I actually read another version of this book (I'm rather particular about getting the right cover if possible) but it's the one with the face with bugs on it and it completely freaked me out.

Crapclassics # 1: The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald

This will be short as the last time I attempted this book was High School and I've worked very hard to repress the experience.
