Review: Ceremony in Death by J.D Robb
Ceremony in Death - J.D. Robb

Yet another wonderfully written book from J.D Robb, aka Nora Roberts. As all of her In Death series there is a wonderful mix of action, suspense and romance.
This time, the investigation centers around Wicca and Witchcraft elements, giving the entire book a supernatural feeling that is bound to appeal to those, like me, who greatly enjoy fantasy, but also enough science and "reality" so it doesn't repel those who don't enjoy fantasy. It's fantastically balanced.

As always, we've got Eve investigating. I love watching how with each case, Eve trusts Roarke more and becomes more accepting to the notion of using him in her investigations. This time, she openly makes use of his abilities as she can't use her department's, and I love comparing with Eve of book 1, who'd never agree to that without a fight, or even Eve from book 4, who would've still grumbled about it. Eve just keeps evolving!

That's not to say I don't get annoyed with her. 80% through the book I was screaming at her that she's being stupid (which she totally was, btw!) and that she should listen to what her heart tells her. She. Just. Wouldn't. Listen.

Roarke is as wonderful as ever, and we keep learning new stuffs about him. For example, he believes in...

Review; Rapture in Death by J.D Robb
Rapture in Death - J.D. Robb

J.D Robb's In Death series is quickly making its way up my favorite series list. If anything, it keeps getting better with each book!

This is really going to be just a quick, short review, cause I don't have much to say I haven't informer reviews of the series: It still has the same wonderful characters, still has wonderful plots, still has the same wonderful writing.

RAPTURE IN DEATH begins in Eve and Roarke's honeymoon.

If you haven't read the other books and don't know who those are, Eve is a homicide detective in a futuristic world. She's toughintelligent, intuitive and cares a lot for the victims she investigates--even when no one else does.

Roarke is the guy who owns half of that futuristic world (and who wasn't always on the right side of the law), a person whose name probably represents un-measurable wealth and influence in the dictionary, and the guy who managed to catch the tough detective.
Both of those people have had a hard past, but both managed to make something of themselves despite of it.

The two of them together make one of the better couples I've ever read about; they complete each other in a way that's absolutely amazing to read about. I can't imagine Eve or Roarke without one another.

So...

Review: Immortal in Death by J.D Robb
Immortal in Death - J.D. Robb

After finishing Glory in Death, I just had to read the next one immediately. I think I might’ve enjoyed this one better if I took a little break between this one and the former. Still, that's not to say I didn't like this one - I just didn't like it as much as...

The Plot
We left Eve and Roarke with a marriage proposal in GLORY IN DEATH. And, luckily enough,Immortal in Death begins with the most adorable and funny exchange between Eve and Roarke about their upcoming wedding. Aside for making me grin like mad (though luckily no one was in the room to question my sanity), it also confirmed that Eve has accepted.
But nothing is ever simple for Eve Dallas. On top of wedding preparations—of which she is scared stiff, I might add—she’s got to deal with a couple or more murders, clear Mavis, her best friend, of said murders, and deal with the one thing she has always ran away from: the memories from her childhood, the eight blank years of her life.
This book might talk of murder and some of the harder things in life such as child rape, abuse, drugs and all that (which is also the reason I won’t recommend it for the weak hearted) but I don’t think I ever grinned so widely.
J.D Robb really knows how to balance the ugly with the good, the cute, and the heartwarming, through the little parts in between the investigation, quirky dialogues and absolutely loveable characters, and she does it in a way that pins a smirk on your face, heavy subjects or not.

The Characters

Review: Glory in Death by J.D Robb
Glory in Death (In Death #2) - J.D. Robb

Glory in Death is the second book in the In Death series, but the first I'm writing a review for. Don't mistake, though, so far, the In Death series is pretty amazing. It has all the makings of becoming a favorite series of mine, if it keeps this way.

Eve is a great character. She's a strongdedicated woman, who feels so much yet seems to think she feels too little. She cares for the victims and invests emotionally in her cases. But Eve is also greatly hampered by a difficult and horrifying past—one she doesn't even fully remember —and has difficulties with relationship… which makes it hard to be in one with Roarke, even though he knows exactly what to do to ease her up.
She is such a likable character and you can't help but think good things about her! She's also very humanI love her.

Roarke is a powerful man. A dangerous man. A mysterious man—and a man who knows exactly what he wants. Or in this case – who....
