4 moons - Rock Addiction by Nalini Singh
Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss) (Volume 1) - Nalini Singh

I was excited to read Nalini Singh’s Rock Addiction since it is a contemporary romance novel that involves some very HOT rock stars. In fact, Rock Addiction is the first book in the series and I couldn’t wait to dive into it. I have been sucked into the world of Nalini’s Guild Hunters, so I was ready to be sucked into her Rock Kiss series.

Nalini has a way of winning over a reader with her male characters and it was no different with Rock Addiction. I fell immediately for Fox because of his intensity of trying to win over a very sweet librarian. That sweet librarian didn’t make it easy for the sexy Fox because she didn’t want to be put in the spotlight. She had a rough past in being in the spotlight thanks to what happened with her father/mother situation. She didn’t even think Fox had her on his radar since she is not his normal girl to go for. Fox though was intrigued by Molly Webster the minute he spotted her. He wants the one-night they had to turn into something more, but Molly is not up for it. They negotiate into a one-month fling, but Fox knows he’ll want more. He has to win over Molly and let her know she means more then a month for him.

Rock Addiction had me sucked in from the beginning, especially with how Fox surprised Molly in the elevator. Let’s just say Nalini had the book smoking hot from the first chapter to the last. Of course there were some issues I had, mostly with Molly. The girl was set on being with Fox for one month and that’s it. (Shaking my head at Molly…you best believe I would go for more) She kept trying to hide their relationship, but Fox being a rock star, it was kind of hard to keep it hidden for so long. I understood why Molly was the way she was, but she definitely couldn’t hold it against Fox.

Fox’s character was complete opposite of Molly with his alpha like bad boy status, but he had a way of changing with Molly around. How in the heck Molly could resist Fox, especially once she got to experience him in the bedroom…I have no friggin’ clue! The man had skills. I adored every bit of Fox.

I look forward to reading the rest of the rock stars books after reading Rock Addiction. Nalini introduces each of the characters with their personalities and what’s to come, but she has the readers begging for more. She at least did for me. ***I’m interested in David’s story.  =)

I give this book 4 full moons and recommend it to readers that enjoy rock star Contemporary Romance novels. Rock Addiction is much different from Nalini’s other two series, but she still gives us some very addictive, sexy male characters to drool over.  =)

I received a complimentary copy of the book from RockStarPR Lit (via the author) in exchange for an honest review.

My Review

I have a few of Nalini Singh’s books on my TBR list, but haven’t had a chance to pick one up yet and when this blog tour came along, I grabbed it up quick. This sounds like a fantastic series, Rockstar meets damaged woman who wants to stay out of the limelight. I loved the growth of Molly and her ability to stick to her guns, but when the time came, her heart won. A beautiful love story.

Molly Webster is a twenty-four year old that has been in the press since she was a teenager and doesn’t want to go back to that place. But when she’s being chased by a strong, handsome, incredibly irresistible rock god, how can she refuse to spend time with him? Eighteen months ago, Molly discovered she had a half-sister and they are getting closer as each day passes. Thea is a publicist to the most popular band around, Schoolboy Choir and since they are all in New Zealand where Molly lives, Thea invites Molly and her friend Charlotte to attend the party.

Molly has drooled over Zachary Fox for ages and when she sees him for the first time in person at the party, Molly has trouble keeping her tongue in her mouth. Being the rock god that Fox is, Molly doesn’t think he would even notice her across the room, but oh how wrong she is.

When Molly finds out the band will be staying in New Zealand for a month on vacation, it’s her worst nightmare. It means she could accidentally run into him after their hot one-night-stand. The only problem is, Fox didn’t believe it was only a one night thing and is determined to be with Molly until he leaves the country and even then, Fox is hoping she will be his by the time the month is up.

Molly tries to keep her past a secret from Fox, but when they continually argue over being busted by paparazzi, Molly gives him a piece of her past. She doesn’t want her heart to open to Fox, but finds it very hard when he’s pushing her rules out the window.

Zachary Fox is a twenty-seven year old that didn’t have an easy childhood either. With a mother that never wanted him, can Fox believe that Molly won’t walk away when it gets tough? Molly is different and interesting and so beautiful, he wants her for himself forever.

Can Fox and Molly work in the real world when he’s in the spotlight 24/7? Is Molly strong enough to handle the consequences if their relationship gets leaked? Will Molly still want her normal ordinary white picket fence life after spending time with Fox?

Rock Addiction was certainly an addiction for Molly, filled with steamy hot scenes and intriguing back story, this is certainly a great beginning to a rocking series. I also loved the fun banter between Thea and David and I am looking forward to reading their novella next.

Review

Nalini Singh is off to a great start with her Contemporary Rock Star Series- Rock Kiss!

Her strong return to her Contemporary roots has all the guilty pleasures of the Rock Star Romance Theme (Glitz, Tattoos, Intrusive Fame, Talent, Burning Up the Sheets Sexuality, Talent, Tortured Souls, Good Girl, Bad Boy) with few of the potholes (Fox is not a man whore. Molly is not too stupid to live. There is angst but it is reasonable and reasonable jealousy too). And as always Singh's gifts as writer make the romance something special.

Singh started her career writing Categories Romance so she is very at home in the land of billionaire alpha male heroes who want their lady and want her now. She does it well.

Yet, Fox is steadfast and repents his arrogance.  Molly has her own life, before him. during courtship, and after they are together.  They are both fully realized characters.

The secondary characters are wonderful and we have major previews of the next books in the series.

There are a few moments where I wanted something deeper (not that there aren't real emotionally compelling scenes, there are).

I am sure with each book in the series the love stories will just get richer and more developed.  I can't wait for the next book!

I was given this book for my honest review. So, there you have it.
