Haunted by the sacrifices he made in Constantinople, Radu is called back to the new capital. Mehmed is building an empire, becoming the sultan his people need. But Mehmed has a secret: as emperor, he is more powerful than ever . . . and desperately lonely. Does this mean Radu can finally have more with Mehmed . . . and would he even want it?

Lada's rule of absolute justice has created a Wallachia free of crime. But Lada won't rest until everyone knows that her country's borders are inviolable. Determined to send a message of defiance, she has the bodies of Mehmed's peace envoy delivered to him, leaving Radu and Mehmed with no choice. If Lada is allowed to continue, only death will prosper. They must go to war against the girl prince.

But Mehmed knows that he loves her. He understands her. She must lose to him so he can keep her safe. Radu alone fears that they are underestimating his sister's indomitable will. Only by destroying everything that came before--including her relationships--can Lada truly build the country she wants.

Claim the throne. Demand the crown. Rule the world.

My Review

I really loved how the series ended. I thought the author did a great job on tying everything up.

My favorite character has to be Radu, I think he grew the most throughout this series. I also loved that he wasn't so blindsided on Mehmed, like he use to be. I also really loved the brother, sister relationship that he had with Lada.

I really had a love hate relationship with Lada throughout the story,  but in the end, I really started to understand and like her much more.

Mehmed, I started out thinking was ok, but I started to like him lesser and lesser, as the series went on.

So this was my absolute favorite out of the 3, with the 2 book, being my 2nd favorite. The first was definitely my less favorite, but I still love some parts more than others, in regards to the first book.

I am so glad that I asked and I was chosen to take part in this tour. Great series and will miss this world and most of the characters.

Beyond the Sea by Keira Andrews 4 Star Review!
Beyond the Sea - Keira Andrews

Even if it means quitting their boy band mid-tour, Troy Tanner isn’t going to watch his little brother snort his future away after addiction destroyed their father. On a private jet taking him home from Australia, he and pilot Brian Sinclair soar above the vast South Pacific. Brian lost his passion for flying—and joy in life—after a traumatic crash, but now he and Troy must fight to survive when a cyclone strikes without warning.

Marooned a thousand miles from civilization, the turquoise water and white sand beach look like paradise. But although they can fish and make fire, the smallest infection or bacteria could be deadly. When the days turn into weeks with no sign of rescue, Troy and Brian grow closer, and friendship deepens into desire.

As they learn sexuality is about more than straight or gay and discover their true selves, the world they've built together is thrown into chaos. If Troy and Brian make it off the island, can their love endure?

Review

I love an island survival story. I grew up reading everyone you can think of and my addiction to Blue Lagoon was off the hook so it figures I love the grown up versions (not that Blue Lagoon wasn't but I was a kid) too.

I almost didn't pick this one up because I am not a fan of two straight guys falling in love but Will from The Big Gay Fiction Podcast loved this book and I have never read a bad Kiera Andrews book so I bought it.

It was so good. Its a slow burn as it should be and love is strong and grand. Both heroes are complex and making their lives work as a couple both on the island (extrovert/introvert problems) and off the island (fame and oh hello discovered bisexuality is realistically done.

It is a great story and romance. Woo hoo!

Rock Star Baby (Bad Oak Boys, #1) by Erin M. Leaf Review
Rock Star Baby - Erin M. Leaf

Ryan Oakley, lead singer of Bad Oak and heartthrob extraordinaire, isn’t looking for a girlfriend. He’s definitely not looking for a boyfriend, but after the explosive encounter he has with a guy he meets backstage, he realizes he’s more flexisexual than he’d thought. Of course, suddenly being able to shift into a wolf is an unexpected side effect he didn’t expect and can barely control.

Bardulf Forst is Alpha-Heir to his pack, but he can’t resist his little sister when she begs him to meet Ryan Oakley. When he realizes the sexy singer is his mate, he can’t deny instinct. He claims the famous rock star even though he knows his father won’t approve: heirs are supposed to have children and two males can’t reproduce.

Little do they know that they’re about to experience an ancient shifter biological imperative: when two male Alphas mate, unexpected miracles sometimes happen.

Review

I keep trying MPREG romance. I have yet to find one that has good enough world building to make me happy.

This one did not and the the couple spent too much time apart for me to be happy.

3.7 Out Of 5 "tragically hip" Stars
Sorta Like A Rock Star - Matthew Quick

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ABOUT THE BOOK~
Sorta Like A Rock Star
Matthew Quick
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Amber Appleton lives in a bus. Ever since her mom's boyfriend kicked them out, Amber, her mom, and her totally loyal dog, Bobby Big Boy (aka Thrice B) have been camped out in the back of Hello Yellow (the school bus her mom drives). Still, Amber, the self-proclaimed princess of hope and girl of unyielding optimism, refuses to sweat the bad stuff. But when a fatal tragedy threatens Amber's optimism—and her way of life, can Amber continue to be the rock star of hope? With an oddball cast of characters, and a heartwarming, inspiring story, this novel unveils a beautifully beaten-up world of laughs, loyalty, and hard-earned hope.

~MY QUICKIE REVIEW~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At first, Amber Appleton annoyed me quite a bit.  She is tragically hip, saying words like True and Word constantly.  Maybe, in 2015 when this was published, she might come off as less annoying, but somehow I doubt it. I was poised to give this something like a 2-2 and 12 Stars, and then somewhere along the way, she started to get to me.  Somehow, she burrowed her way under my skin.  I even shed a tear or two.  Seriously.  Of course, I could just be feeling sorry for myself, I just had surgery, after all, and I can't do much right now.
Ultimately, the message or the tone of this book came through to me, despite all the religious references (for the most part they were referenced in a non-preachy way).  Granted, it's has a sappy "ABC After School Special" feel to it, but for the right audience…
