Dead Girl Walking by Ruth SIlver
Dead Girl Walking - Ruth Silver

What a quick, fun and easy read. Perfect for the season too.
This story reminded me of that old grim reaper TV show, Six Feet Under. All the things you normally think about reapers is not so, the reapers are more human like the show. They live like humans and look like them too, just in an undead way.
I liked the story itself but didn't love the end. Man, it was rushed like an ambulance. I hate abrupt endings.
I would read more though. I want to see how Leila does as a reaper, plus we finally got to the romance between her and Wynter. I definitely want to peek in on that part of the story some more.

Review: Orenda (Orenda #1) by Ruth SIlver
Orenda - Ruth Silver

Lil has a dream, she’s transported to another world, meeting her doppelgänger. When she wakes up she’s left with questions. When a boy kidnaps her from school needing her help to save Willow, her double she jumps right in.

I love books with parallel universes, they’re fun to read and different. It’s amazing the imagination that goes into it. Ruth creates a world filled with magic, love, hope, fear and power. Fae are also a favourite creature of mine so I was really happy to see them included.

Lil and Willow look alike but they are very different. It’s only little things but it’s noticeable. I loved Lil, she will do everything she can to save her friends, even if it means making sacrifices. Willow seemed a little stuck up to me, but I loved how she was with Jamie and I warmed up to her towards the end. Hudson, Rawlie & Arianna were cool characters but I think they could have been a little more detailed.

The world building was good, I loved the portals and how everything came together. The individual powers from the Mystics was funky too. I had quite a few surprises thrown at me, one or two I definitely wasn’t expecting.

I had to put Orenda down a few times as I got bored but then at other times I was on the edge of my seat excited, It was a little up and down for me. Good but not my favourite from Ruth Silver. I’m curious to know what happens next even if I am a little undecided if I’ll read book 2.

Forget Me Knot
Forget Me Knot - Ruth Silver Forget Me Knot - Ruth Silver I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Leila has finally come to understand and know more about what being a reaper is and what it is even if she doesn't really like doing it. But she is more ok with it now that she has come to realize that she is not killing people and that she is helping them to pass on to their next life. Although she still has a little problem following all of the rules that a reaper must follow. She is always getting in trouble with the council members.

One of Leila's problems is she can't get over the fact that she isn't allowed to see her sister Mara. Mara is her little sister and Leila has taken care of her for a long time with their mother dying when they both were small children. Leila is always trying to find ways to see her sister without getting herself and her friends in trouble with the council. Leila is a very stubborn girl and has nearly always gotten what she wanted being the daughter of a king.

Mara misses her big sister so very much especially now with the death of her father. Mara is now going to be the queen of her country. She isn't all that thrilled about becoming the queen and having to take on all the responsibilities that come with being the queen and the leader of so many people. Not counting all of that now she is going to have to marry a man that she did not pick or marry for love. To be the best queen that she can be she must put the lives of her kingdom before her own. So there for the best and only choice she has is to marry a man that she does not love but one that will best benefit the kingdom and save so many lives. Mara doesn't like the idea of being the queen because her sister was older than her and was supposed to be the queen not her.

Leila has made so many new friends since becoming a reaper. All of her new friends has stood right beside her when she needed their help or stood behind her and backed her up to help keep her out of trouble. They have tried to teach her all that they can in a short period of time all the rules of being a reaper. But there are so many rules to follow that it will take Leila many, many, many years to learn. But oh well that is ok because Leila is more than likely not going to follow them anyways if it does not suite her.

I have read almost every book that Ruth has written and I have loved each and every one of them. If you were to ask me which of her books that I liked the best I am not sure if I could answer that question or not because I am not sure myself. They are all out of this world and mind blowing. They will rock you to your core and keep you on the edge of your seat with your finger hanging out there just waiting to flip to the next page. Sometimes your brain and your finger just don't work well together. Your finger will flip the page before your brain is ready for the next page.

Oh man I love all or well almost all of the characters in Forget Me Knot and can't wait to read more of their stories and about their lives. I can't wait to find out what happens with everyone in the next book. What is Leila going to get herself into next? What about Mara as well? I hope Ruth doesn't make us wait to long for the next book.

If you have not read Forget Me Knot then I suggest that you do if you love a good story and you like reading about reapers helping souls to travel on to their next life. Oh and Ruth has thrown in some dark angels as well. But you will probably want to start with the first book in the series Dead Girl Walking you just so you will know what is going and what happen to Leila and how she became to be a reaper of souls.

Stolen Art
Stolen Art - Ruth Silver I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Madeline has lived on the street for most of her life. She has picked up a few jobs here or there just to make a few bucks so that she can eat. She has been lucky to have found a few people that would hire a kid and pay her under the table and not turn her in the police. The last thing Madeline wants is to go back in the system and then be put back in foster care. The foster homes that she had been placed in didn't care about her or what she did; all they wanted was the money that they got for taken her in, if you want to call it that.

Madeline was a good kid with a great big heart; all she wanted was to survive so there were times when desperation caused her to do things that she didn't want to do like steal food. But then one day she gets herself in a lot of trouble with the police. She took a job to steal something that was worth a lot of money. This job that she took on was a job for professionals with exceptional skills not that she didn't have good skills; just not the skills that this job required. So when she is caught she is put back into to the system. They put her in a home but it is better than going to jail. Only thing is she has no intentions of staying at the home. With the skills she does have she breaks out of the home.

Before she is put into the home she meets this guy; Weston whom she comes to care about a lot and he also likes her too. After Weston and Madeline meet they learn who and what she is. When they find out who she is then both of their lives are in danger or that is what they think until they learn the truth. After finding the truth or who she is they meet a few new friends along the way who help them out. Madeline, Weston and all of the other characters all have great big hearts and will sacrifice their own lives for anyone in their group.

Madeline, Weston and their friends are up against a very large company who has a hand in almost all of the business in their home town and probably have every intention of having a piece of every business in their town and more. The people in this company doesn't care about anyone's life, all they care about is power and being in control.

Will Madeline and her friends make it out alive? Will they ever have the opportunity to live a normal life like everyone else? Will they ever stop running from these evil people? How will they survive? Can this company ever be stopped? To find out the answers to these questions then you will just have to grab your copy of Stolen Art to find out or will you find out? LOL! I can't wait for the next book to find out more about Madeline, Weston, Candy, Peter, Sean and all of the other characters.

If you have not read Stolen Art then I really think you should if you like science fiction, a little romance and a lot of adventure. Stolen Art is one of Ruth's greatest novels yet. Although I have truly loved reading all of the books of hers that I have read. Ruth is another one of those authors where you don't need to read the summary to know it is going to be a great book. Thanks Ruth for letting me read your books and thanks to Girls Heart Books Book Tours too.

In a race against time, her life and those she loves are in jeopardy.

My Thoughts - Story
I am writing this review with dual thoughts swirling around my head…happiness that Olivia and Joshua have finally found their HEA but sadness that this series is over.

I had the opportunity to read the first book of the series because of a blitz and once I finished, I just had to email Ms. Silver and ask for the rest of the series because I couldn’t think straight until I found out how this story ended.

I loved the characters, I loved the premise of the story and I got sucked in to the events happening around Olivia and Joshua. The secondary characters were awesome to make the story even better and I just can’t say enough about this series.

Re-Cap
We pick right up after the fall of the government and now there are new threats in the horizon. Secrets start coming out about these “special” people and a new villain is introduced along with some old ones popping back up!

Olivia must find out what other special abilities she has in order to fix the dwindling population along with saving Joshua.
