Unwrapping Tess (Vegas Mates #5) by Krystal Shannan
Unwrapping Tess (A Paranormal Shapeshifter Romance)(Vegas Mates Book 5): Christmas Encounters - Krystal Shannan

If you have not yet read the Vegas Mates series, and you are looking for a great holiday paranormal/shifter read - this may be just what you are looking for.  Krystal Shannan did a great job of giving relationship details as needed to follow Tess's story.  It wasn't a re-hashing of previous books, but just enough to help me a bit.

Tess is royalty in the wolf world, so she's a bit worried when she finds out that a bear is her fated mate.  I loved the way the characters related to their animal - especially Tess.  She had full converstaions with her wolf and they even seemed to have different personalities and goals at times.  They truly were two creatures living as one.  And when you throw a fated mate into the mix - well, her the animal side gets a bit vocal about having her way.

Patrick seemed to be the strong quiet type.  He was fiercely protective, but didn't crowd Tess either.  He let her come to her own conclusions and decisions - which was definitely a good move.  There's a few dashes of excitement here and there - lots of hot sex - and tons of true love in this story.  Add that little splash of Christmas magic and it is just perfect for the season.

*This book was received in exhange for an honest review*

TAKING NICOLE (VEGAS MATES 4)
Taking Nicole (Vegas Mates Series)(#4) - Krystal Shannan
Taking Nicole is the fourth and final book in the Vegas Mates series. It tells the story of Nicole Demakis (werewolf) and Aaron Katsaros (leopard shifter). Aaron was forced to kidnap Nicole and have her delivered to her grandparents in Greece. During the course of the kidnapping it was revealed that Nicole and Aaron were mates, which proved a challenge for Aaron as his purpose for carrying out this nefarious deed was to ensure the safety of his sister who is being held prisoner by Nicole’s grandparents.

Nicole, on realizing who Aaron was tried to get him to see reason and release her, but he was not willing to risk his sister’s life even if it meant losing his mate for all eternity. Nicole feared she would end up like her mother if she were to lose Aaron. The emotional battle that these two were facing as a result was quite intense. The chemistry between these two was quite was quite intense, however, they had quite a number of obstacles to overcome before they could even think of being together.

I loved Nicole, she is a brave and caring person. She was willing to risk all to protect Aaron and the other slaves.

Of all the books in the series I found Taking Nicole to be quite emotional. It was filled with pain, sorrow, hatred, jealousy and humour, so when you begin to read this book be prepared to have all your emotions engaged.

There were some suspenseful moments which had me on the edge of my seat. This was an enjoyable read from beginning to end.

If you love paranormal stories that are short, sweet and spicy then I recommend this book as well as the others in the Vegas Mates series.

Saving Margaret (Vegas Mates, #2)
Saving Margaret - Krystal Shannan

having read Chasing Sam (Vegas Mates 1) I could not wait to see what else Krystal had in store for her readers so when Saving Margaret came out I knew I had to get my hands on a copy. Now I must I say that I absolutely enjoyed this book. This book can be read as a stand-alone, however it would be best to read the series in order as it will make it easier to follow the whole adventure that this series will be definitely be providing.
Saving Margaret provided answers to questions that had been raised in part one of the series. It provided me with a better understanding of Renata Damakis behavior, although this still did not ender to me. I just can’t fathom how a mother could treat her children that way.
This book as well as provides quite a unique take on werewolves as well as other shifters. It was quite entertaining to read about romance between a werewolf and a bear-shifter.
Saving Margaret has the right mix of romance, action and suspense. It pulled me in from the first page and I just could not wait to find out what was going to happen next. I was so tempted to cheat by skipping chapters just to see what was coming next, but I am so glad I didn’t as it made the ending more worthwhile. There were quite a few twists and some unexpected occurrences. My first reaction was OMG, tell me this isn’t so.
If you had never read one of Krystal’s books my advice to you is to start with this awesome series, you will not regret it.
