This was difficult list to put together. Thank so much for everyone who pitched in to help!

Here is what we found!

1. Miss Grimsley's Oxford Career by Carla Kelly

2. Not Quite a Husband by Sherry Thomas

3. Outrageously Yours by Allison Chase

4. The Mermaid by Betina Krahn

5. The Songbird's Seduction by Connie Brockway

6. The Awakening byJude Deveraux

7. The Lawyer's Luck  by Piper Huguley

8. The Jewel by Beth Williamson

9. Prudence and the Professor by Sibelle Stone

10. The Professor and the Bootlegger by Margaret Lake

I would love your additions.

When a theme in a particular sub genre of romance is not robust, it really just mean one thing to me--Romance Writers get Writing! The combination of historical romance the the University setting overused. There are rich stories hiding in here.

Here are some historic Universities and their founding dates. What great settings! There are many more. I am getting deja vu. I swear I wrote this post but I don't care. LOL.

1. University of Bologna 1088

2. University of Oxford 1096

3. University of Cambridge 1209

4. University of Salamanca 1218

5. University of St. Andrews 1413

6. Cairo University 1908

7. University of King's College 1789

8.  Harvard University 1636

9.  Howard University 1867

10. Mount Holyoke College 1837

Prudence and the Professor (Brides of Jubilee #1) by Sibelle Stone
Prudence and the Professor - Sibelle Stone I have found that it can be difficult to find a good mix of steampunk and romance. One of the halves always seems to come up a little short. Prudence and the Professor had a very nice balance of the two. The machines and contraption were a little lacking in the middle, but the Screaming Meemie and the devices at the end made up for it. Prudence and Gerrit seem to be made for each other, but neither of them want to admit it. Their reasons aren't very sound, and it was really the only downside of the book( although the bath house scene near the beginning is pricelss). I would have liked to see a slightly different conflict between them. There was plenty of other conflict to go around though. With espionage and assassination on the agenda, both Prudence and Gerrit are attached for several different reasons. There is a bit of paranormal twist as well, but since it was a surprise I don't want to say exactly what it was. It was very nicely done though and leads the way into an interesting set up for book two. I think it will be another very exciting one. *This book was received in exchange for an honest review*

Whistle Down the Wind
Whistle Down the Wind - Sibelle Stone Whistle Down the Wind is an awesome historical paranormal romance to read, I loved it so much I read it in one day. Sibelle Stone is no stranger to the romance world this is just another pin name, so don’t think this is her first rodeo because believe me once you read this you’ll know the difference. I think Sibelle brought Catlin and her sisters to life as she describes Catlin story.

The author mixes the right amount of story, romance and she hits a good connection with all the characters. This is one series that is not to be missed if you’re a paranormal romance reader that loves a good witch story. I myself will be knocking this author’s door down for the next book. I want to read who Catlin’s elder sister hooks up with and what’s going to happen to the Windago.

I hardly ever read a book and want to tell about the whole book in a review but this one I really want to tell you everything, I’m holding on by a thread here. This is one book I highly recommend for paranormal romance readers to try.
