Tangled Hearts
Tangled Hearts - Sarah O'Rourke Tangled Hearts - Sarah O'Rourke This book was an utterly complete disappointment for me. What started out promising soon sunk faster then the Titanic!!

description

I don't even know where to begin with this review. The first 20% of this book was good. I loved Cal and Melody wasn't as annoying as some of the other heroines by this author. The one liners they were trading where hilarious. Then...nothing happened for basically the whole of the book. We don't even get sexy times until 85% into the damn book! Maybe had there been some over the top sexual tension it wouldn't have been so bad, but nope, just BORING BORING BORING. The Christmas scene was especially LONG and, you guessed it, BORING.

I enjoyed Cal for the most part, he was on board the insta-love train basically from the beginning, why I have no clue since Melody was basically TO STUPID TO LIVE, and a bitch, and super annoying. At the beginning of the book we get exhaustive inner dialogue from Melody about what a cheating two faced, compulsive liar her ex is. Yet she doesn't think he could be the one that is harassing her with hang up phone calls (which she tells no one about), or leaving her threatening letters (which again she tells no one about) Even after to confronts her and wants her back, and threatens her over the phone. She eats cookies that her ex's parents send her without checking they have peanuts in them, and of course they do, and of course she is deathly allergic to them!! This chick deserved to die, and quite frankly I wonder how she survived to reach the age of 30. *lol* Don't even get me started that at 85% she throws out the "let's be fuck buddies!" That far into the book I should be feeling the relationship, again nope. I was just feeling bored.

That brings us to the ending. OMG, who the baddies turn out to be, and the reason WHY they wanted Melody dead is so frigging idiotic, that I am pretty sure my head exploded! SO SO disappointed in this one.

Side Note: On a positive note, the ONE sex scene was very HOT (I apologize if there was more then one. I don't think there was, but I did skim a lot after 85%) I am also intrigued by Austin. I'm not sure it is enough for me to give this author another go, but we'll see.

Forever in My Heart (Tangled Hearts Book 2) - Maria K. Alexander

Sexy and sweet with a little bit of adventure thrown in.  I loved Jamie and thought that Vicky's family, (most of them), were too hard on him.  Great chemistry led to some pretty good love scenes. Overall, and enjoyable second chance romance.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review

Tangled Hearts (A Highland Hearts Novel) (Entangled Select)
Tangled Hearts (A Highland Hearts Novel) (Entangled Select) - Heather McCollum This review can also be found at Carole's Random Life

I received an advance reader edition of this book from Entangled Publishing, LLC and Net Galley for the purpose of providing an honest review.

This book is a hard one for me to review. I did not love this book but I also did not hate it. At times I found this book easy to put down while at other times I flew through the pages. I would have to say that this book was a 3 star read for me.

Ewan is a Scottish Highlander who just happens to be around to rescue Pandora from being burned at the stake as a witch. Ewan is surprised to learn that Pandora, or Dory, is actually a which and controlling the weather is one of her talents. Dory tricks Ewan into not only accompanying her to King Henry's court but also helping her rescue her pirate family that is currently locked in the tower. Dory is not only a which but also a pirate and is the daughter of traitors to King Henry. While working together to free her pirate family, the pair pose as a married couple and start falling for each other.

There was a lot going on in this book. I would really say that it was probably a bit too much. The villian at the end of the story seemed a bit of a stretch as well. I did really like the romance between Ewan and Dory and felt that that was the strong point of the book. The other major strength in this novel were the twist concerning Dory's pirate family.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for something a bit different. This book is definitely different. I can not remember ever reading a book about Pirate, King Henry, Witches, Scottish Highlanders, and even a few scenes in King Henry's tower.

{BLOG TOUR} Review:Tangled Hearts (Highland Hearts #2) by Heather McCollum
Tangled Hearts (Highland Hearts) - Heather McCollum

I usually don't read much pirate or highlander stories, in the fear that I might not like them. But this one was different than many others. In terms of plot and characters, it is definitely a must read book for those who love action packed pirate or highlander books.

The characters, specially the main characters of the story are wonderfully built. Pandora, the lead is quite a unique character. I guess her unique upbringing contributed to it as well. As a heroine, Pandora is a mix of everything that will compel you to like her. She is strong willed and full of self confidence. She can be a bit manipulative at times but I like when the female leads do that so overall, I really really liked her.

Ewan, as the hero, was no less. He is nice and charming and totally an amazing person. His aim is to bring a traitor’s corpse to King Henry VIII's court. Fate throws this feisty unique girl in his way.  He doesn't seem to be someone wanting to get involved with a women in a sentimental or emotional way but still when he meets Dory, he cannot help falling for her, even if he doesn't realize that at first. His primary motive is to protect her from the crisis she is facing, and the love attraction happens somewhere along that road. I liked how McCollum has shown Ewan's disliking for the London life and yet his attitude of not giving up.

The plot was pretty good. Except for the fact that I feel there are a few filler descriptions inserted here and there, it is pretty enjoyable. And to be honest, I was so engrossed in knowing the two main characters they were all that kept me go on to finish the book. I liked how the author has mingled romance with history using her own twists and turns.

Tangled Hearts (Highland Hearts)
Tangled Hearts (Highland Hearts) - Heather McCollum Scot Ewan is on a mission for his clan, to bring the body of a traitor to the King in London, and return safe and sound. Along his way, his path crosses with Pandora, a woman bound to find her way to save her Captain from the Tower. That the corpse in Ewan´s custody happens to be her father, must be chance.
Historical Romance with smutty fluff, action and suspense. Twists and danger will keep you on your toes to the end.
